Arod Cuban ownerhsip group??

Twins Video

Of course this is completely made up wild speculation, but how cool woudl this scenario be??

Arod and Lore are in squabbles about the Wolves ownership..

Mark Cuban has gone on record stating he would become an owner of a new team if Shaq was involved.  And Derek Jeter has always had aspirations of ownership.

How about this for a dual ownerhsip group.

Arod, Jeter, Cuban, and Shaq, form a singular entity and buy BOTH the Twins AND the Wolves!!  and just for local interest they bring in KG and Joe Mauer as minority owners of both teams as well.

The NBA would buy off on this in a heartbeat!!!

Cuban bring s the money, he makes any ownership group legit. (plus of course his history of being an owner). He could pay cash all by himself for either the Twins OR the Wolves with his $3.5B sale of majority stake in Mavs.  with him selling he remaing 27% stake he could buy BOTH.

With Shaq's net worth being around $500M he is no slouch either.

Jeter comes in at about $200M net worth

KG at about $120M

and Joe Mauer at about $100M

Both the NBA and MLB would love this.  It bring sin local ties and heroes from both sports to be co owners, it brings in succesful previous ownership group in Cuban, and big star power from teh NBA in Shaq. Also it brings in 2 minority owners to both the MLB & NBA in Shaq (and KG).

It helps build the hype between both sports and both Minnesota teams.

Can't even say how much I LOVE the idea of kg as a minority owner. We minnesotans love him and would be happy to see someone so passionate and loyal to the team take a leadership role. It's what should have been done with flip and now it makes all the sense. Lore and arod are jackasses, kg would bring INSTANT credibility.

As far as the twins, as long as the stay here and WANT to actually win im all for it. Get the cheap ass pohlads out of there and for anyone in mn, Mauer brings instant credibility. I don't think he nor KG would want a move(they have been here and know how hungry fans are for a championship) and would work to see that happen. Even if it means opening the pocketbook.

I can see Mauer as the face of a new ownership group.  Anyone know if the Cargill family has any aspirations to own the Twins? They own the rest of the state.

No thanks, Mauer and Jeter would be great as part of an ownership group as well as KG but forget those other clowns. I’d rather have hands off owners and Cuban and Shaq are big egos focused on themselves. I want owners willing to invest and stay in the shadows.

Cuban may be a "lead out in front" type of guy, but he set the Mavs up for success for a long time.  Who cares if he wants to sit courtside or right behind the dugout?  He was a very good owner, and I don't think he's deserving of the "clown" title.

You want someone to pony up 1.5 billion dollars, then fade into the background?  Who does that?  You and I will likely never see 1 million dollars, let alone 1.5 billion.  Get real.

Please!  Just say NO to A-Rod and anything he's part of!  He could not care less about the Twins and baseball in Minnesota, there are many good reasons he was suspended from the game for a full year!

Funny How Patrick Ruesse - with many fans agreeing - in a recent column said that we fans have forced the Pohlads into selling and how we could end up with a worse ownership.  Worse than three young nephews running it who know nothing about baseball?  They do know a Profit and Loss Statement and how to cut their salaries.  There is an excitement with any of these options.  Getting a former baseball player would be good, ARod or Jeter.  And I think Shaq would be awesome.  I would like to see some big money included.  Unfortunately the way baseball is, with no real salary cap, the way to compete year over year, is to have money to buy the best players.  Sure, there are exceptions, but the small market teams come and go.  Money, unfortunately, keeps you from losing your players.  It would be fun to finally have a team after fifty years that could bid on the very best players instead of the junk yard, mediocre or injured players.

ARoD or Jeter don't have enough money to buy the team.  We are talking about a very small group of individuals that can do this.

It's not as small as it used to be.

I'd want owners who know enough that Falvey will bring down the Twins & not trust what Falvey says because they have no idea about what is going on. BTW who is KG?
