  1. Nice, now the cat is out of the bag, or the Squirrel as it were.
  2. I say no to Perez. After a terrible start recently he was asked about his struggles and he acted like he did just fine. Probably a good guy but I don't think he has the right mentality. Smeltz or Thorpe take your pick otherwise you got it right. I've been on board with a Berrios, Dobnak/bullpen, Odo, bullpen, Berrios playoff rotation but I'm starting to think Odo and Berrios should be flipped. Odo while he's not going eight he just seems more reliable.
  3. Helps the blood pressure to be in the know on Dick's fly ball calls. Oops thought I was in the game thread
  4. With my Android tablet emoji buttons won't show up I have to create them the old-fashioned way with punctuation marks. Oh the drudgery :-)!
  5. I think there may be some usefulness to asking these guys to dial it back a little say 97 in Brusdar's case as Dante suggested but I'm not sure it will happen. Look at Dyson. He pressed through pain for two years in apparent silence. There i$ much on the line and the lure of 100 mph and the riches that come with it will be too much to resist. As this era plays out we will aquire the data and learn the answers to these questions.
  6. With the velocity these guys now achieve we are going to have to handle them differently than in the past. I do believe it would be unwise to expect 150 plus innings from the Bruiser next year. It is also going to be an important strategy going forward to not waste these young arm's bullets in the minors. I don't think we know how long health can be maintained when human boundaries are pushed like this. Therefore I'm on board with the above mentioned strategy of starting him in the MLB pen next year while letting him work with the staff on another pitch and then transition him mid season to more of a starter role. That is the beauty of the new flexibility with which pitchers are now handled. Go from reliever to primary to starter.
  7. He is scheduled to see the same doctor that worked on Buxton this coming week. Probably letting some swelling calm down before they evaluate him. If he does have surgery he most likely won't pitch for the Twins again.
  8. I agree Romo has been there done that and I count on him and his three rings coming through. This was the first time I detected a slight critique from Baldelli. He seemed to question whether Gibby was even trying to throw strikes and said unequivocally that you have to throw strikes to have a chance.
  9. Two out of three ain't bad. Keep taking these series and letting our guys heal up a little.
  10. Only here in the neg's past is long so I won't quote but I agree and didn't we also get Chris Vallimont? A hard throwing starter.
  11. Dude's got three rings and is smoother than Horitos Plata, I want to watch him next year he's a winner baby!
  12. I agree that was not my favorite type of game but after watching I'm more convinced the Twins in the playoffs is going to be fun!!! If the @$&+##&anks hit a three run dinger I'll be all like yeah, so!!!
  13. This thing is over! Hilariously ironic that the bullpen has really put this team on its back.
  14. The bullpen rose up! Rogers is ice. After that bad ball four call he gathered himself nicely.
  15. Nice move to swoop in and remove Duffey after the plunking. The Duffmaster was a little rattled there and Romo is as smooth as Horitos Plata
  16. This is revealing and good news to me as I was under the impression our bullpen ace had a flaw. Now it appears every pitcher is worse on a back to back. This is an area where a team could gain an advantage with some bullpen creativity. With Alcala coming up there is quite the arm talent in our pen. Today is going to be a great test too see how the staff deploys these weapons.
  17. From what I've read here Berrios has slumped in August but rebounded in September. Gotta love it baby! Just a little drama then Bam, October!!
  18. I agree that Stewart should only be used in a blow out and should be moved off the forty one way or another after the season. If he makes it back to the organization again I would only let him back on the forty if he seriously earned it. Overall this has been the most fun Twins season in a long time and the rest of this year is going to be a ride! Go Twins!
  19. Well there you have it Rosario will now go on a hot steak. I missed Littel but Grateral and Romero looked good.
  20. All it takes is one look at Pineda to see that the best thing he could do to enhance his performance is to drop fifty pounds. I am certain he is metabolically the opposite of, say, Gibson.
