  1. 3 walks and a single, somehow still haven't scored...
  2. Very happy with Polanco out there. Would love to see him playing every game. Not sure where that leaves Escobar (who I also like) but I feel like Polanco's already and every day SS and could have an All-Star season in a year or 2.
  3. Never nervous Erv Kyle "Hawaii 5-0" Gibson (because you'll be down 5-0 pretty quick when he's on the mound). Hector the K collector Phil "The Bruise" Hughes Mejia la Guerrilla
  4. Won't happen due to the MLB umpires union (known now as the World Umpires Association). They've already let a ton of power slip with the replay stuff, I don't think they're prepared to give away any more territory to robots. I for one do enjoy a good "steeee-rriiike threeeee" with a fist pump as opposed to some robotic BEEP. In my head I'm thinking of that noise that you hear during the Olympics when swimmers are at the starting blocks. Maybe if they made a big gong noise on the 3rd strike, I'd be up for checking it out though. Or that sad trombone on the Price is Right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ytCEuuW2_A
  5. I'm hoping for a mid-70s win team! That's my dream. I just can't handle another 59 win team, and I worry about that happening again if Bux continues to hit .107 all year.
  6. See, I agree with this post 100%. If the Twins are sitting 20 games out on July 1st, I have no problem with Bux playing every day. But when a team says "We're going to let this team fail", it's really hard to swallow as a fan. Buxton HAS lost this team a couple of games, let's be honest. Yes, his glove is helpful! But would you all be saying the same thing about defense if Castro was batting .105 and had struck out 50% of the time? I agree that the lineup is more interesting with Buxton in there. I also agree that the Twins should keep him in the lineup for now. But can we quit clapping for pop-outs and dribblers? He's struck out in every game he's played. Can we be honest that he's been a heartbreaking disaster so far? Everyone who says "keep Buxton in the lineup" is assuming he'll start to hit. But what if he doesn't? He hasn't so far. If he keeps going like this, you have to demote him. And by then, it'll be too late to salvage a season...so we'll have a crap season and Bux in AAA. I don't want that.
  7. Great article and thanks for the research. I was kinda hoping someone would do this. The dark cloud to your silver lining: it seems like Buxton is still the worst player on this list by a long shot, alas. While these stats do help, I'm more heartened by seeing Bux take 2 walks (and score the eventual winning run) last night. I tuned in last night and saw his batting average was over .100 and I was pretty happy to see that. Small victories, eh?
  8. Buxton with a 3-1 count....Dozier on deck...c'mon boys!
  9. If you brought a white flag, we'll know you're a Twins fan!
  10. I feel Gibson's received a free pass for almost his entire Twins career because of guys like Mike Pelfrey, Kevin Correia, etc. Fans and management have been so desperate for a homegrown young pitcher to succeed, and Gibson was in the right place at the right time to have a career year in 2015. He's been extremely fortunate to be a member of the worst staff in baseball for the past 4 years. His shortcomings have been glossed over without criticism by management for years. Honestly, can you think of any other staff that would take him? He's the type of guy that might win 6-8 games per year in Korea or Japan. Maybe.
  11. I'm in Cartagena right now, and there's a beach and the Caribbean ocean right outside my window. Reckon a little dip will improve the mood. Boshears making my decision easy. Adios for now gang!
  12. Nice little 4-pitch walk to load them up. Jeebus.
  13. Ah Gibby, doing his thing. According to Dick Bremer, he's been given leads 5 times so far this year and has given them all up.
  14. I think the Twins are easily spooked when guys like Berrios and Buxton go down in flames upon promotion. They're so worried about damaging a prospect, they prefer to bring up a journeyman junkballer. The Twins and their defenders say "this is best for our future", but the future never arrives. So frustrating. If we're all in on this being a development year, then let's start the dang development! Get Buxton a new swing and get Berrios up here pitching every 5th day.
  15. Mauer's got some pretty good defense there at first base. He's made lots of plays on these short-hop throws from the infielders this year.
  16. I was thinking the same! I was scratching my head on how Grossman didn't advance, but before I could think about it, Rosie hit a blast! Way to pick up a teammate there. Now it's time for the 'pen to take care of the rest. Let's end this streak!
  17. True. But he also swings and misses at pitches right down the middle, so it evens out. I can't imagine how he avoids Rochester on Monday, at this point.
  18. Holy crap, Eddie Rosario! YAAASSS!
  19. VERY PRODUCTIVE GROUNDOUT, CASTRO!
  20. 2 men on, nobody out. The Twins need just 1 run to tie it up. What are the odds they make it happen?
  21. Twins get a couple! 3-2! Time to PILE ON (I know, I know, who am I kidding). Still....C'mon gang!
  22. Yeah, I like that he's experimenting with lineups. Batting Polanco 4th, Kepler 3rd, etc. I think the on-field talent (or lackthereof) make his decisions look worse than they actually are. I don't like that Molitor has the personality of a box of Triscuits.
