  1. Castro's really been plummeting back to earth with supersonic speed, hasn't he?
  2. 2:15pm CT - according to the Twins beat reporters, tarp's off and the game is about to start! Let's go boys! PS: does it count as a sweep if one of the games gets rained out? ie: did Cleveland sweep us last weekend? Could the Twins sweep the Royals today?
  3. I love those things. Thanks for the reminder!
  4. An Escobar-Polanco middle infield wouldn't be awful IMO.
  5. Sano works a full count, fouls off a pitch and hits a bomb. WOO!
  6. And I'd be a solid #2 behind Erv if I'd worked harder on my fastball in 8th grade. Ifs and buts are candies and nuts, man!
  7. Agreed. We can build excuses for Tonkin until the cows come home. Fact is he seems to be a below-average pitcher, and that's the end of the story.
  8. Good point there! "Gibson is a solid starter" is another myth that's been forced down our throats for years. Same with Trevor May, even when he finishes every year with a 5+ ERA. We need to remove our Twins Fan Glasses and see things from the outside. If we do that, it's pretty clear that Tonkin stinks, May underperforms, Gibson is garbage. I can't think of another team that would want Rogers on their staff. Duffey at this point is a borderline major leaguer who might find a role in long relief if he improves. Lots of question marks in a bullpen that appears to be on its way to a heavy workload. Tonkin will clear waivers. If he doesn't, good riddance.
  9. Verrrry shaky pitching tonight from the troops. Santiago, Rogers, Duffey - poor effort!
  10. Dang it, Duffey - you had him there, why throw it away?
  11. Agree 100%. If you put ketchup on steak at a restaurant, you might as well just save time, stay home, and flush $40 bucks down the toilet. There are a million foods that are customarily abused by ketchup. Steak, the king of meats, should not be subject to this type of tom-foolery.
  12. I like this Levine guy, saying all the right things at least according to my ears here.
  13. Escobar is money! Eddie the Stick!
  14. Many amateur statasticians (and I think some of them are among us) believe Grossman is essentially the perfect hitter, and they'll give you several reasons why he should be a cornerstone of this lineup. I happen to agree with you - he's a nice pinch hitter / backup outfielder. I hope the Twins begin leaning that way and phase out his playing time. Robbie's not an every day player IMO. Would rather see Kepler, Rosario, Buxton, and for now I see no reason not to play Vargas as the DH. Every day, all of them.
  15. LOL @ Sano trying to leg that out. Heck, at this point just let the man do what he wants!
  16. Buxton in on the fun! Oh heck yes, this is a great night to be watching Twins baseball.
  17. C'mon Rosario, nothing special here. Sac fly buddy.
  18. Polanco doing what Polanco does! Pro hitter!
  19. Have yourself a night, Miguel Sano!
  20. Understandable he wanted to get things going. But turned out to be huge. A guy throws you 4 straight balls, maybe see if he walks the next guy?
