Left Field Could Surprise Next Season

I'd have to disagree and that LF will be most likely be an Unpleasant Surprise in 2026. -
The Quiet Upside in the Twins Move for Alex Jackson
Jacksson replied to Parker Hageman's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
At 1.8 Million, is Jackson viewed as a backup or will he become the starting C once Jeffers is traded? That would be coupled with the elevation to backup status for whoever is remaining at AAA and proves worthy. Keep an eye on Philly as a Jeffers destination if Philly fails to resign their starting catcher. Flavey has already dealt with them recently. -

NO. The Pohlads did not get to be where they are financially by paying attention to the opinions of or pressure applied by others. You're in the business army now; you're only friend's a BUCK and the more BUCKS you've got, the more friends you've got = Pohlad family mantra, originally from Fred Flintstone.

Quit wasting 40 man roster space on Julien. He had multiple chances to establish himself and failed. If Flavey is committing to Clemens, then the position challenged Julien only fits as a DH. Utilizing him there detracts from 26 man roster flexibility. Dump or DFA him ASAP BEFORE the 40 man roster needs to be set for the Rule 5 Draft. Also consider moves with: Sands, Topa, Fitzgerald, Gasper, Keirsey, Kreidler, McCusker, (Can either of Kreidler or McCusker play 1B to platoon with Clemens?), Outman and Larnach (even Wallner = .202 BA too ). Let's clear the dead wood off of the 40 man roster and take some chances on players who MAY POSSIBLY develop into assets as opposed to continually plugging in and force feeding players who have disappointed and hoping that they might experience a "lightbulb" revelation and FINALLY "get it"!! Take the "PAIN" now and just rip the band aid off now. To the Front Office: STOP kidding yourselves and trying to CON US!! We know that soon, Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers, (Buxton?) will be FORMER Twins and as younger and different players find their footing at the MLB level, the team will not be anywhere near competitive in either 2026 or 2027. We are smarter than you think. We know that the Pohlads are ONLY interested in turning a $ PROFIT $, not Winning. The Die is Cast.

I have yet to hear back on my application to be Assistant to the Assistant Bench Coach. " OK, Bench. Stay there and let the players sit on you." How was that?

Add them all and a few more. Plenty of room. Even room to add a Rule 5 Choice or Two Trade, Non Tender, Release: Sands, Topa, Larnach, Wallner. DFA: Fitzgerald, Gasper, Julien, Keirsey, Kreidler, McCusker, Outman. That's ELEVEN spots opened on the 40 Man roster. Only 33 there now so that takes the count down to 22.

Signing IKF as the starting SS then shifting Lee to 2B and Keaschall to 1B would work. OR Move Lewis to 1B and slide Lee to 3B. When Culpepper is ready, IKF becomes Super-sub. That's assuming IKF isn't recruited by a contending team and a bidding war results..

Don't waste your time bullpen shopping with these guys. Concentrate on the recent list on MLBTR of all the players who just became minor league free agents. That's where the Twins will be doing their shopping = The Bargain Bin !!

Go the rest of the way and REALLY clean out the 40 Man Roster and overhaul it and position it for 2028. Be ready to trade: Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers, Larnach, Wallner, Sands and Topa. DFA = Fitzgerald, Gasper, Julien, Keirsey, McCusker, Outman. Consider moving on from Clemens & Kreidler. Keep the Cubs in mind as a trade partner for Lopez or Ryan. Throw in Sands or Topa as a sweetener, if needed. Even Larnach or Wallner Jonathan Long, 1B, Ben Brown, P, Porter Hodge, P, Reese McGuire, C for starters & ??

Devers is a DH. Occasionally he will appear at 1B or even 3B but his primary position is BAT.

A successful job interview hinges on telling the interviewer exactly what they want to hear and convincing them that YOU, above all others, can be trusted to follow the company line without needing to have a babysitter while keeping your comments non-committal, NOT throwing your boss under the bus and are just right to deliver on the expectations. It will be a disappointing, frustrating season, and Flavey, based on Shelton's recent Managerial history and his familiarity with: the organization, the people at the top, an endless team rebuilding mode is counting on Shelton to toe the line and not bad mouth his boss.

Let's look into that: DUMPED = Genesis Cabrera, Thomas Hatch, Anthony Misiewicz, Michael Tonkin, Justin Topa, Christian Vasquez, Edouard Julian, Jose Miranda, DaShawn Keirsey, Carson McKusker, James Outman, That's 11 POSSIBLE = Ryan Fitzgerald, Mickey Gasper, Ryan Kreidler, That's 3 TRADED = Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, Ryan Jeffers, Cole Sands, Trevor Larnach, Matt Wallner, That's 6 11+3+6 = 20 You are 100% Correct, Old Nurse !!

Does Anyone Want to Come Here?
Jacksson replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The only players who would consider voluntarily coming to Minnesota are AAAA & AAA free agents and failed former MLB players who have disappointed in recent years and been cut loose. Given the current state of the team, anyone coming here will be looking to resurrect their careers for a chance elsewhere in the 2027 season OR be hoping for such a productive first half of the 2026 season that they will be traded to a different, competitive, organization at the 2026 trade deadline. Any hope for improvement will come from the hoped advancement of the players (Outman?? - Really??) received in the 2025 fire sale and the further asset liquidation by trade which will come during the 2025 offseason and at the 2026 trade deadline when Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers, Larnach, Wallner are peddled away. -
Does Anyone Want to Come Here?
Jacksson replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not having a domed stadium was a doomed decision by the cheapskate Pohlads. They failed to recognize that their attendance base extends far beyond the MSP/STP metro area. No individual having to make any kind of drive to see a Twins home game in April/ May/ Sept/Oct when there is a high risk of bad weather, will make the financial and drive time commitment to attend a game with the possibility of rain or cold temperatures. Although the stadium is touted as being nice, the lack of a roof, the parking issue, the location, and the cost, just don't give me any desire to see a AAAA baseball club.
