  1. Per Wolfson he gets a pro-rated $1.15M if he makes the MLB club. I hope that's incentive enough for him not to make the club. I'm worried he won't be riding pine allowing young players to develop if he makes the team. I think I'm mostly frustrated because there doesn't seem to be a plan for developing the young guys and building the team. Maybe they're not, but it really seems like they're just winging it at this point and they've been winging it since last year. It worked for awhile, but hasn't since about last June. Edit: well I can't copy the link for some reason, but it's probably not even worth figuring out why.
  2. Dang, that Warriors record for fewest losses remains out of reach for this year I guess.
  3. Yes, but all have gone on to win the World Series. Don't bother double checking that though, it was another bit of trivia that isn't online but solely in Chief's head.
  4. I know. I just have to realllllly stretch for jokes right about now.
  5. Jepsen as the closer? We have different definitions of nice.
  6. I would hope not, but I don't see a place for both Murphy and Arcia on the 25 man.
  7. ***** Moderator Note****** If everyone can't keep their posts objective and on point, there is no reason to keep this thread open as subjective posts on this topic are almost certainly going to be a personal attack on either the GM or other posters on this site, both of which are against TD posting policies.
  8. Perhaps they thought they were doing a kindness by only poisoning one of your senses today.
  9. It seems to me, if he can't play CF, he's just getting in the way of development. His OPS last year was exactly the same as Arcia's career OPS. Why on earth would this team even consider giving up on a 25-year-old who plays the same position and at least has a sniff of potential for a guy who is classic DFA material?
  10. The homegrown talent started to dry up around 2004, he was in charge well after that. Aside from Dozier, we don't really have much to show for quality MLB players in the system the past decade. I hope we get the best out of Buxton, Sano, Berrios and the rest, but that's all projection at this point. Even if they do produce, that was a loooooong dry spell.
  11. So I guess the answer to the question: "What does Eduardo Escobar have to do to bat higher in the lineup?" Is: "When he stops being a switch hitter who gets on base."
  12. What did I miss? Did Arcia actually do something to cause them to make this move? He hasn't even been given a chance. Another corner bat when there already aren't enough spots for Kepler, Park and Arcia. Why not just call Quentin back? Isn't it a right-handed bench bat this team really needs?
  13. Who's fault is that though? This team has been very poor at developing homegrown talent since early this century.
  14. I think it's going to be whichever actor puts up the biggest fight during contract negotiations.
  15. I don't think Molitor thought that sac bunt through. What did he think would happen to Escobr, the team's best hitter with a left handed Rookie batting behind him?
  16. Hmmm, I'm pretty sure my wife would just jump on the insult dog-pile if it was me.
  17. Probably, though Pressly also worked multiple innings as well. There seems to be an air of changing of the guard in this thread no matter how folks feel about how this has transpired. I hope Molitor feels that air too and gives the job to May.
  18. So we're criticizing players for not having surgery immediately even when there are alternatives to try? It's easy to yell about surgery when it's not you or someone you love getting knocked out, cut open and incapacitated for months. These are living breathing human beings even if we too often think of them as disposable entertainment.
  19. Molitor seems to trust everyone in the pen, aside from Tonkin. I'm not saying he should....
  20. If a move to the pen increases his velocity and/or eliminates the need of his weakest pitch, success against RHB likely will also improve.
  21. There's an AA flight that leaves in 20 minutes and he'd be at MSP by 3 PM. https://www.google.com/flights/#search;f=ROC;t=MSP;q=rochester+ny+to+minneapolis+flights;d=2016-05-04;r=2016-05-08 If he's not on that plane, or the Delta that left an hour and 15 minutes ago, George Castanza must the the assistant to the traveling secretary for the Twins.
  22. I've merged the two Perkins DL topic threads.
  23. I trust Jepsen much less than Pressly and May. I know for some reason he was the 25th man on the roster and he was at one point a Rule 5 pick, but when healthy, Pressly has been the most consistent and reliable bullpen arm since the start of last year. I don't know why he isn't getting more trust. I'd put him in the 8th/9th until the real fireballers get called up.
  24. It might be getting better: http://money.cnn.com/2016/04/12/pf/gender-pay-gap/index.html?iid=EL Recent college grads are finding that young women are actually making more than men. The article mentions that this is largely due to young women asking for more at the onset. I would also guess that companies are fairly self-aware, and plenty of them aren't proud of past job gaps and are or will actively try to fix the situation. I would think fixing the job gap at the entry level is going to be how most companies will remedy this situation. Not that it wouldn't be fair, but it probably would be pretty difficult financially to start giving 5 figure raises to all the established employees.
