  1. Yeah, if it's not a career threatening issue, he'd be a great pick up.
  2. And speaking of injured CBs: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/cb-shavon-revel-set-to-visit-bills-colts-vikings-this-week Do not draft injured DBs. Or WRs. Those are the two positions that just cannot play through lower body injuries. Not their fault, but it's the nature of their positions. Samuel sounds like it's neck/shoulder issue? If it's one of those degenerative neck things we see once in awhile, don't sign him. If it's shoulder, that's fine.
  3. I don't get this one. Jax is supposed to be the better reliever, as seen last year. I would have rather him vs the top of the order the following inning. Plenty to criticize Baldelli for, but this is just another example of inventing mud to throw. I don't get it, there's enough to complain about already.
  4. At least Cambodia and Vietnam are being taken down a peg with their 48% tariffs. I never was comfortable with those wealthy and powerful countries dictating the world's economy.......
  5. You lose just about every game when you only score two runs.
  6. I really want a sale, but everyone here is really underestimating the chances of new owners being just as bad or worse. It absolutely could be Marlins/Pirates/A's worse. I'm more than happy to take that chance, but it is a real and significant possibility, yet too many think it will be time for a parade, despite not even knowing who these hypothetical billionaires even are.
  7. I think you lose a lot of games if that's priority #1. This team loses because the bats all go cold, particularly when there are runners on, and it's been that way for a long time. As bad as the defense can get, that's rarely the reason they lose games.
  8. That's probably a tough thing to coach out of a player in only two months of spring training, so I'm not writing off the new hitting coach just yet. I'm not giving him a pass though either.
  9. Swinging at and missing pitches has to be significantly harder to correct than swinging at the wrong pitches. And Miranda is far from alone in this issue. I'm really starting to believe the problem is as much systematic as it is individual.
  10. Who goes more innings today, SWR or Correa and Buxton?
  11. I don't get why it's not fair to the players though. One guy goes down, but correspondingly, another guy comes up. Why aren't we happy for that guy instead? This only happens because of the goofy mascot kind of situation Dobnak is in. Also happened with the 'He's back after all these years!" human interet story of Michael Tonkin too. I bet I won't find a thread like this last year for Daniel Durate, Caleb Boushely or Diego Castillo though.
  12. I'm not hopeful. These things don't usually turn around without significant overhaul and shake up. I'm not mad, I've accepted it and I'm just biding my time.
  13. If what I was doing last year didn't work, maybe I just have to do it again this year and it will work.
  14. I don't think he's a terribly good manager. He's average to below average at best. I don't blame him for everything like most do, but his style, particularly on offense, is grating, boring and now ineffective. Maybe he didn't need to be fired "long ago", but certainly at the end of last year. That team clearly got stale and things no longer were working offensively. Same thing happened with Gardenhire. It was obvious when things got stale when he was in charge and ownership refused to acknowledge or care and kept him on for years after. He should have been let go even if it was just to shake things up.
  15. Twins: "Hey Randy, you pitched well, but now you're out of commission for the better part of a week, and we both know that's an issue for a relief pitcher. Will you be offended if we remove you from the 26-man so we can add someone to hopefully get us a win finally?" Dobnak: "No, that doesn't offend me, I want to win too. What offends me is that you think my ego is so fragile that you thought this would be an issue."
  16. Pretty sure you missed the point of the post. The Twins would have been stupid if they would let him waste a roster spot they couldn't use for 3-4 days. What you mean is the Twins callousness knows no bounds. Which is also wrong. Dobnak has been paid a MLB salary for several years now; being removed from the 26-man is hardly the indignity being presented here. So what? Players are always removed from the 26-man all the time. Keeping him on to cater to his ego (I doubt it bothers him, it probably just bothers the Dobnak fans actually) would be a slap in the face to the other 25 players who presumably prefer to win games over playing favorites.
  17. You know your game is over when the announcers spend the whole inning celebrating how the right fielder is so good at getting behind routine flyballs. Also, I'm done listening to you guys complain about Morneau. As an announce he is perfectly in sync with this boring, pointless, underwhelming and unwatchable team.
  18. Perfect game ruined! Eat it Perez!!!!
  19. Morneau: "The Twins haven't hit yet this year because of the weather." I will let the rest of you dissect that statement.
  20. Ha! Provus just said Baldelli is waiting to present Gaspar with his 'first career hit' ball until after the Twins win, because that's what they always do?!?! Sounds more like a threat than a reward.
  21. Farm systems are irrelevant when you can continually sign top free agents like France and Bader.
  22. What's next year's draft class look like?
  23. I'm not going to advocate for or against anyone. I'm just an advocate for changing as soon as things start to look stale. Which from my view was about June of last year.
