  1. My money is on wish granted.
  2. https://mobile.twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/808362400118403072 The Rangers probably wouldn't want to sell low on Profar any more than the Twins would Buxton.
  3. Weren't the rumors that the Nationals tried to get Profar and had to settle for Eaton as the Rangers were extremely over-valuing Profar?
  4. Also a slap in the face for the kid who asked for a regular robot.
  5. There were two Carew threads, they have been merged and are in the Twins forum.
  6. Duh it was complicated, if you notice the time between my two posts it took me nearly a half hour to work out the details! I would expect the dunderheads running the three organizations to take twice that amount of time to figure out that this is the best deal possible for everybody! Or at least best possible for the Twins.
  7. Twins to get: De Leon, Bellinger, Stewart, Ross Stripling, Dalton Pompey and Sean Reid Foley Dodgers to get: Dozier, Danny Barnes, TJ Zeuch and Vlad Guerrero Jr. Blue Jays to get: Santana, Eddie Rosario and Puig I wasted a lot of time working on this don't tell me how terrible it is!
  8. Moving Santana and Dozier in the same deal doesn't sound like the way to get the best return, but maybe I'm wrong. The Dodgers did something similar last year getting Reddick and Hill at the same time.
  9. Is Porkins alive in this one?! Seriously, naming the fat pilot Porkins is kind of a big clue Lucas' best name ideas had already been used. We're lucky Lando was not named based off of a particular physical characteristic.
  10. Another catcher isn't high on my priority list, though I'm really not worried about blocking Murphy or Garver. Murphy has never shown anything at the majors or minors. I'd think if he was just a guy, and not the guy the Twins got from trading away Aaron Hicks, most people would be ready to let him go. If Soto can't get a MLB deal I'd be interested in kicking his tires. He's typically a good RH platoon option and a good defensive guy, perhaps even a better all around defender than Castro if we come to find out that pitch framing doesn't help our pitchers as much as we were hoping it would.
  11. So would Dozier be leading off of the Dodgers also? Utley did most of their leading off last year and they don't have a prototypical leadoff guy. We gave Molitor a hard time about using Dozier in that positoin, but if that's what the Dodgers want him for it could be more leverage for the Twins. The Dodgers need a 2B, right-handed power AND a leadoff guy with lushes hair? The Twins can fill all of those holes for you with just one player.
  12. The bad news is that I still haven't figured out how to turn off the speakers on my new computer at work. The good new is that everyone else is out for lunch.
  13. A package built around Verdugo? I'm not sure about that one.
  14. I think about the time the Astros snagged Collin McHugh off waivers from the Rockies. Someone from the Astros must have let it be known that they thought he could be good because of his spin rate. I don't remember people talking about it really before then but it seemed after EVERYBODY wanted to know about spin rates.
  15. Those are legit reasons, though saving the Pohlads money may not get a warm reception. I'd just be disappointed if Greene was passed on because nobody has ever done such a thing before and god forbid we do something first. That's not a reason not to do anything.
  16. Faedo interests me a lot, but if the team passes on Greene it better be for reasons other than the rediculous "no one has ever taken a HS right hander at 1-1" So what? I don't even see how that is relevant, does that statement somehow change the player's skill set? Can being a HS right hander disqualify a guy from being the best player available somehow?
  17. Posting skepticism and flat out accusing him of BS are not the same thing. - It's been over a week, I'm not very confident that Dave has an accurate portrayal of the situation. - Dave you're a liar and this whole thing was pulled out of your #%$. Seriously, I'm quite confident you see the difference.
  18. And in this case, the video may as well not even exist if it's only 90 seconds long since affirmative consent is an ongoing process and the process surely didn't take 90 seconds. If the video doesn't show the whole act, it's pretty much useless. Except to ID some of the parties involved.
  19. Everyone is above trolling on this site and you've been around long enough to know there's zero tolerance for it. Feel free to engage in a civil debate, but trolling Dave doesn't qualify. Seeing as disproving what Dave says is going to be next to impossible, ignoring his posts or staying away from the thread entirely is likely the most prudent decision if you don't like or believe what he says but can't hold your tongue.
  20. Because I like to keep trophies from my victims, duh. And it's waaaaaaaay more than twelve.
  21. And a pretty sweet Magnum PI mustache.
  22. I'd like to check out Daniel Hudson. He was bad last year except when the D-Backs gave him a chance to close, he was pretty good then. He still has good velocity and checking out fangraphs, his FB and slider were pretty good last year, it looks like his issue was that he got his changeup knocked around. 1) Neil Allen is supposed to be a changeup guru 2) Two pitches is usually good enough for relievers who throw 95-97 and have a good slider.
  23. That likely only means his money will be higher, not the years. It really shouldn't matter if he gets $4M or $10M if it's only one year, that's not prohibitive for any team.
  24. Three or the past five HS kids drafted at 1-1 that signed have debuted within three years. And that doesn't include Bryce Harper who went to Junior College as a 17-year-old so he could get drafted early.
