    I think you're attributing too much to Baldelli, good or bad. There's next to no chance that the decision to limit innings and manage health is his call. He maybe has a seat at the table for these discussions, but he's almost certainly not King Arthur in this scenario.

    I think the MCU works because they had some pretty decent source material. Credit to them for adapting and altering them as needed of course. But the comics had some pretty fun concepts which work well for a film blueprint. Forgive me if others have found it different, but I read a couple of Star Wars books in the late 80's early 90's, and even as a kid, I knew what I was reading was inconsistent and pulpy, and not in a fun way. They didn't have any grand ideas like comic books, they were basically just poorly written adventure stories trying to vaguely tie into some loose thread from the films people remembered. Those books were not enjoyable to me. I was also reading Lord of the Flies and Lord of the Rings, so I could tell the difference between quality literature and commercialized pandering.

    No arguments here. The Mondalorian had some great episodes but it was still way too streaky. There was no direction on Boba Fett and after the success of the MCU with the well thought out plots weaving through multiple movies, how the hell couldn’t Disney craft a simple three movie arc with the sequel trilogy? “We’ll just wing it, Star Wars fans will never notice.” And still, with all of those complaints, I never got my feathers ruffled as much as the younger generations who first knew the series with the prequel trilogy, because outside of the last 1/3rd of Revenge of the Sith, those films were still the trashiest things Star Wars ever created. So basically that was two paragraphs saying nothing lived up to the original films and I accepted that it was never going to feel great again about 2 decades ago. Still watching though.

    There's definitely some room for improvement here, but I'm not sure I like using Miranda, a rookie as an example. After an extremely rough start, the guys has an OPS over 1.100 the last two weeks, he's clearly just starting to figure things out.

    Spencer Steer has hit more HR in the past two weeks than Austin Martin has in his professional career. Steer has hit as many HR this year than Martin hit his entire college career.

    I wouldn't sell low on him, but my opinion of him was never as high as most, and I'd guess there are quite a few teams out there that would feel the same. Without the XBH, he's going to have to approach Luis Arraez territory in on base skills to be an every day player. And I don't say that with any exaggeration because at the beginning of the season we were all debating whether Arraez was actually an every day player due to the fact that he didn't get any XBH.

    With how poor the Saints starters have been, it’s hard to understand why those big three pitching prospects are still in Witchita. I mean if Sands, Gonzalez and Rodriguez are STILL the best emergency starters sitting in St. Paul, I think you need to re-evaluate.

    Yeah, I'd prefer this stuff wasn't relevant, but due to the vaccination status of several players and the weakened status of the team, we've once again found ourselves in that area where the baseball and non-baseball venn diagrams overlap. ****Moderator Note**** I understand that even on more benign topics, Randball Stu's articles aren't for everyone. If this topic upsets you, please move on to another. We have plenty of other threads to talk about other things. This won't be turned into a battleground.

    What different posting privileges are you referring to? TD's stance has always been that COVID is real and dangerous and vaccination is the responsible thing to do. We have always made it clear that we would not let this place be a platform to validate and disseminate misinformation about anti-vaccination.

    To be fair, nine other starters have already started games, so it's fair to say that he was the organization's 10th option. I would have preferred him to be the 13th option after Canterino, Woods-Richardson and Balazovic, but there've been plenty of years where he'd have been the 6th or 7th option. Like maybe even last year.

    Athletes will go to all kinds of lengths to get a competitive advantage, yes, I'd think anyone who truly had winning as their top priority would get vaccinated. But I understand that's not every athlete's top priority.

    Yeah, I think Gray and Coloumbe were the only ones placed on the IL AFTER the report. Joe Ryan pitched in the Olympics last year though so it's not him, they all had to be vaccinated. But good lord Kepler, if you're not going to get vaccinated, find a better soundbite. Was he trying to stir the pot? That quote was an awful decision.

    I like Gordon. Because of that, I’d set him free. Forget about the Kirilloff and Lewis situation, Spencer Steer is ready and hopefully Martin is soon as well. The Twins are in position to not have to sweat losing fringe MLB talent. Let Gordon find a team that has the need and roster space to give him a legit shot at reaching his ceiling. I will not be jealous, angry or chagrined if he does so elsewhere.

    Geez, maybe I never paid attention before, but Steer sure does have a pretty swing for a righthanded hitter.

    Marty Cordova. .828 OPS when the Twins DFA's him and easily the second best hitter on the team. Crazy that you couldn't get anyone to even trade for him. Still only managed to get a league minimum salary from the Blue Jays the next year. He would have been a much more appreciated player if he didn't peak during the inflated-number steroid era.

    Glad to see Steer get promoted, hopefully Canterino and Woods-Richardson are hot on his tail. I'm excited to get Steer up to the big club, but that also goes for Lewis and the return of Kirilloff as well. It feels really weird to have too many good players for too few positions.

    90-94 seems about right at this time, but I guess as long as the league doesn't yank the Twins from the AL Central, I suppose 100 wins isn't out of the question, as ridiculous as that sounds. On a side note, I'm really happy to see those clearly spurious suggestions that the Tigers were ready to compete this year were debunked. Miguel Cabrera is once again the best hitter on that team somehow. That team never looked any good to me. Hope they keep it up the rest of the decade.

    Big difference between a reliever and a shortstop. But more importantly, no one, and I mean no one, thought the Twins were actual contenders in March, even with Correa.

    Johnson is just so dang small. I know I never see these guys play, but his size it's just hard for me to buy into there being much power potential. With a pick this high, I'm not big on station-to-station kind of hitters.

    Steer maybe should be in AAA. And I say maybe only because he looks ready to crush MLB pitching, but we're already having difficulties fitting the middle infielders into the MLB roster. And if Alex Isola ends up being a +offensive catcher at the MLB level after being selected in the 29th round, there's a scout out there who needs his xmas bonus quadrupled.

    Personally, I'm not looking to improve the roster at the minute. I'd only do it to deal with a roster crunch, but I'd be more likely to look to do it from redundant parts (existing and prospect corner OF?) and guys who are already in arbitration (Urshela or Arraez?) I could do a staring pitcher if needed, but to be honest, Winder has been one of my preferred options to keep. Though not untouchable.
