    Seems weird to complain about pitchers hitting when Gordon, Casto and Taylor are still in the lineup. In all likelihood, the pitcher will be an improvement.

    I suppose I should also mention that Michael Taylor and Willi Castro are auditioning to be my least favorite Twins since Tommy Herr.

    Anderson is out. I hate to see a guy get hurt, but when it's done by his own teammate and while slapstick sound effects play in the background it does soften the internal conflict.

    Pitchers are throwing 6 MPH harder than they used to and spinning the ball with twice the movement they used to. You're going to lose more games if your starters are throwing no sliders and 88 MPH fastballs, than you will be limiting their innings. Can't go back to 1980's baseball unless you want to watch the Twins win 40 games a year.

    In a vacuum I would too, but I've seen enough injured players play that it typically seems to be a worse option than playing the backups.

    You want him to say obvious things for the sole purpose of teeing up angsty fans to throw it back in his face? The why not seems obvious.

    Do they need to explain the obvious when explaining the obvious will only make the rash fans get out the pitchforks? Seems counter productive. Aside from that, the other three major sports all have some degree of 'tanking' controversies surrounding their seasons, and what MLB teams do most closely resembles what the NBA does, which does not sit well with fans. Seems to me the front office would be foolish to purposefully draw parallels to that. If I get pulled over by the cops, I don't automatically declare that I was speeding and running red lights.

    Larnach is only starting because Kirilloff is out. Miranda and Vasquez were the only projected starters during spring training. But I mean, thankfully Larnach has been is, and will continue to start.

    Robert is the only scary bat in the Chicago lineup, so Maeda does have a shot to do match Cease, but this really does look like a lineup where the Twins only hope is to sneak out a 1-0 victory. That one run will probably need to be due to errors and walks though considering Cease has only given up three hits so far this year.

    Yeah, Canterino would have to end up being HOF good if you're actually going to worry about paying him during his age 32 season.

    Somehow Julien is the ONLY healthy position player available on the 40-man who's not already at the MLB level. So why isn't Canterino on the 60-day IL yet?

    Why the heck isn't Matt Canterino on the 60 day IL yet? Has this been covered elsewhere? The Twins only have one healthy position player on the 40-man that's not already up at the majors. Shouldn't Canterino be moved ASAP so there's more room for an emergency bat?

    Yeah, and they waited four days to decide on Kepler too. What's with all the fence-straddling when they purposefully put together a deep roster?

    This seems pretty clear, they need to put him at first base and when Gallo is healthy put him in CF or at least platoon him there. Michael Taylor needs to be a part time player at most, he just cannot hit enough to continue starting. This is not a SSS issue, he has NEVER been good enough offensively to be a starter.

    I think the strikeouts will be a problem for Wallner, but I’m happy to give him a chance to prove otherwise.

    Yeah, probably even more valuable than starting pitchers. My faith in Miller’s bat ever developing is very low, but these are better lotto tickets than corner players.

    Are there comps of offensively gifted MLB shortstops who struggled as badly as Miller has in Rookie League and low A Ball? I know it's only been two years and he's young, but if we're just looking at a glove-only player, I'm not going to push too hard. You can always sign a Jose Iglesias or Kiner-Falafa type cheaply as free agents. I'd make sure to defer to the higher ceiling prospects.

    No, MLB says they can handle broadcasting if Bally doesn't pay up. This presumably would be free or dirt cheap, but I suppose greed could take over their decisions between now and then.

    Makes sense. What doesn't make sense is why the Twins couldn't pull of a bloated deal as well. This stuff all seems to be on the Dave St. Peter side of things. I usually could care less about the off field stuff, but he better pull his weight with the next TV contract because at some point the Twins aren't going to consistently carry a higher payroll than teams like Cleveland if they aren't making more money than them in broadcasting. The Twins seem to always be on the low end of broadcasting revenue, even when they sign a new deal.
