  1. Varsho take a knee to the berries on that collision?
  2. Good work. Pablo telling the 'vintage' Twins who have been involved in the streak to get out of his way.
  3. If they need one other than Maeda, I don't like the Twins chances.
  4. They will surely provide plenty of graphics for that.
  5. Vikings run blocking grades are probably similar to bullpen stats. Small sample sizes sway the results.
  6. Via DeLorean or phone booth? If it was phone booth, I hope you said high to George Carlin for me.
  7. I'm just going to assume you used your moderator powers to make me look foolish. But it is a nerve wracking day, it'd probably best to get them under a layer of booze to get a head start on the game.
  8. I'd venture a guess that more 45-year-olds than not knew that one. That show was definitely a weird phenomena for a very small demographic window.
  9. And here I thought you were going with a Dick Bremer over-reacts to an infield pop up joke.
  10. Yeah, TD gamethread comments should come with spoiler alerts.
  11. The most depressing episode of Saved by the Bell?!?!?! You trying to doom all of us?!?!?!?
  12. Dang, active morning here at TD today. I wonder why..........
  13. If they win it's going to be an expensive month for you 'cause you're getting tickets for all the games.
  14. Yeah, that was brutal.
  15. For what it's worth, Toronto is a bottom ten team in terms of GB%. On the other hand, they're mostly right handed hitters, so that's where the groundballs will mostly be headed. Still, this doesn't seem to be an answerable question for fans as we're not privy to how his hamstring really is progressing. Which is fair, the team absolutely shouldn't be giving free information to their opponent any sooner than they need to.
  16. Ha, and the rest of the AL Central teams made up the bottom four most power-woeful clubs. Cleveland was last, 27 behind the next worst team in the majors and 39 behind the next worst AL team, KC. And all of them are middle of the pack or worse in terms of farm system rankings. A mediocre Twins team should be able to lord over this division for the foreseeable future, like they did two decades ago.
  17. Possibly. But Taylor Swift is going to sell more tickets next week than Cousins will. Joke notwithstanding, I have season tickets and have already sold every game I wasn't going to attend other than the Xmas Eve game, which is always a tough sell anyway. I think the Vikings have already pretty much maxed out their ticket sales, they really only should be concerned with no-shows not buying $15 beers.
  18. Martin's minor league OBP is .30 points higher than Celestino. Add in that he has options and this seems a no brainer. Celestino was never going to be more than the 26th man on the roster. I mean if you're going to lose players, lose the players that you can easily replace in free agency (or waivers). Even if he were a capable MLB hitter, (which Celestino has shown no indication of) you can sign guys just like him for peanuts. Guys like Wade or Castro are never going to be a tough sign for the Twins, or heck, even the Pirates. As much as I'm in favor of trying out Martin in CF next year should Buxton be unable to play there, I'll likely be saying the same thing about him in 3 years should he not be able to push is OPS over .800.
  19. If they are similar slap-hitting players, then they don't need two of them. I'd rather have the guy with options and the higher OBP.
  20. I know it wasn't that long ago, but I do remember watching one of the ALCS games in 1987 in class. I suppose teachers don't need to do that these days since any kids who still like baseball (very few, good work dissuading interest MLB) just watch it on their phone under their desks.
  21. Working from home, I'll take all the noon games I can get. Evenings are way busier with kid and family commitments. But I feel for everyone else.
  22. Playing the Angels without Trout and Ohtani, you'd think they wouldn't need a pitcher, a backup catcher should suffice. Yet last night the Angels said otherwise.
  23. Jon Gray left his start early the other day, he may be out or at least pushed back in the rotation.
