    Going way down the list, I see Kaelon Black also has good reports about pass protection. And they actually did bring him in for a visit. Same with Coleman, Emmett Johnson, Demond Claiborne and Seth McGowan. But he's also a bruiser type. And not terribly high on many prospect lists. I don't know what I want here. Maybe it would be better to find a more explosive guy and hope the blocking is good enough that KOC will use him. I guess I'll just agree to like whomever they draft. And they will draft one. I just heard a stat that teams that have used at least three top 30 visits on RBs have drafted a RB in the first 4 rounds 91% of the time, and the Vikings had 5 RBs for top 30 visits.

    I'm sure there are, and the round you were drafted in and whether you're a starter, probably start to lose correlation around year two in the league. But to me it feels like there are a lot of guys that will be going in the 1st round this year that wouldn't have been going in the 1st round other years. I don't remember a year where there were this few DL and Edge players I was interested in early. Same with WR. And obviously QB.

Sounds like it's not serious and can easily be rectified. But to me this feels like draft propaganda to raise his draft stock. The guy played at LSU, not some DIII school. If he was feeling "stabbing pain" while throwing the ball, LSU would have had the resources to diagnose this themselves. Unless someone buys the story and drafts him early, I'm predicting he goes to Kyle Shanahan in the 5th round. Non-improvisational pocket passer who runs the plays only as called. He's the SF type.

    Even if the files are still there, they will CLAIM they were falsified if/when they get out.

    I'd argue they picked the wrong THREE starters as I'd think Matthews, Festa (injured) and Klien should be the first starters moved to the pen over Rojas, Morris and Prielipp. BUT, it's most definitely not a waste of resources. Good late inning relievers are worth more than back of the rotation starters. I can't imagine you'd try to argue the Twins could have gotten more for SWR or Ober than they got for Duran, Jax or Varland last year. Even so, I'd guess in this case we haven't seen the last of Rojas and Prielipp in the rotation. Use these guys while you have them. Pitchers have a finite number of throws in their arms, so don't waste them in AAA. And it's not like this franchise is going to break the bank giving long term extensions to the most injury prone position in all of professional sports.

    Might not be a full-time spot every year, but could be a full-time spot at different positions depending on need each year. He's showing more pop the last two years than I expected. On the flip side, how did we all not see the poor on-base skills coming? Outside of a half season in AA, he never really did show a knack for drawing walks. Should have been the BIGGEST red flag for him. However, if his bat would even out, I could see him similar to Eduardo Escobar, and that's obviously a good player. But, might want to sell high on that too if it ever comes to fruition, because the lack of on-base skills really does seem to be the biggest indicator of inconsistent production.

    I really dislike this draft class, I count 16 players I like. They can trade back, but if they do, I'm almost certain to yawn at the pick. The only guys I seem drawn to as late 1st or 2nd round picks are the linebackers. Hill, Allen and Rodriguez. And Funny, the robot gave Hill the lowest grade on Levi's mock. And Hill is supposed to be a good blitzer and good in coverage, he's the one of those three I like the best and best fit for Flores.

    I'm confused how Jonathan Greenard's down season didn't look like a 1st team AP season compared to Lawrence's down season. Lawrence was almost non-existent last season. Is Joey Schoen, the much maligned Giants GM, actually good at his job?

    I vote Yea. But I also want Matthews and Klein as one inning guys in the pen to try to fix the high contact issues. Festa joins them if/when healthy.

    Nope. and Allen is even more of a pure thumper. I don't want anyone (well, one guy....) in this draft class as the long term RB. But if they do grab someone, and they might be desperate enough to do it, the guy has to pass block or it will be a wasted pick because those guys always end up struggling to get on the field. And funny, I just saw Tyson had his workout in front of 20 teams.     Is ten games a large enough sample size to trade Tristan Gray for a young top of the rotation pitcher? This is clearly the new Gray and a good GM should be able to sell the rest of the league on that. He still has five years of team control; Paul Skenes only has three!

    Lemon would be a fun pick. Don't let the door hit ya' on the way out Addison. My bet is he'll be gone by then, but this could end up being a super heavy defensive draft early, so who knows. I think I'm out on Tyson at this point. If I'm fair, my issues with drafting injured CBs has to transfer to the other side of the ball too. Injured WRs also hardly play, and can't play effectively if they do. Especially when it's soft tissue stuff like Tyson's hamstring issues. I've also started to hear concerns about his effort, willingness and competitiveness, but NOT from the media who tend to leak team-fed misinformation to try to tank the players draft stock. I've been hearing this listing to dynasty fantasy football nerds who break down every play. If the Vikings end up grabbing a RB, I think I'm down to Jonah Coleman and Kaytron Allen. Allen in particular does not fit the pass-catching, quick burst back that I want in the long term, but from what I can tell, these are the only two guys worth a damn when it comes to pass protection, and if you can't pass protect, I don't think you're getting on the field for the Vikings this year. Maybe there are others who could be good at this skill, but I'm not finding scouting reports suggesting this.

    The funk is longer than 3 games. It's been the entirety of his MLB career. And getting further demoted to AA isn't how it works. Going to the pen is no longer some shameful demotion. I'm not writing him off in any sense, as I have full belief he can and will be a great contributor for this team. But if this team is going to rebuild after losing Duran, Jax and Varland, they need to do it with the next crop of Duran, Jax and Varland. All three of those guys held more value as a reliever than they ever did as a starter. A mid-to-back of the rotation guy like SWR wouldn't fetch a return anywhere close to what any of those three got. Moving a starter to a high leverage relief role isn't giving up on a guy. In today's baseball it's more like moving a guy from SS to 3B because his glove doesn't quite play up the middle. Playing 3B can be just as valuable.

    Why do you presume he doesn't have thick skin? Everyone here is shaming an individual who absolutely deserves shaming. The only thin skin in this scenario is if the offender is sensitive and can't handle the consequences of his actions, or posters who think you should be able to say whatever you want with no repercussions. Seems like calling someone 'thin skinned' is just code for "I don't want you to call anyone out for bad behavior". Yeah, we should just let it go, never bring it up, and these hateful people will just stop doing these things all on their own.

    I'm partial to Glenn Williams 13 game hitting streak that spanned both the start and the end of his MLB career.

    I get that others want to give it more time, but it's not knee-jerk, I've been advocating for it all winter. Obviously preferred Option A is front of the rotation starter, but those odds are looking long. Option B that being a high leverage reliever are very high. Give me more years of that. I think people are still seeing the gulf between starters and relievers from a 1980-90's perspective. It's just not the case any longer. A shut down reliever is a better player than a back of the rotation starter, AND it's smore likely to happen. And more valuable too. The Twins JUST traded their last versions of Zebby Matthews for Taj Bradley, Mick Abel and Kendry Rojas. All three of whom I'd rather have in the rotation than Matthews at this point.

    Seems to me the Twins need late game power arms to replace all the ones they traded away last year. Mop-up duty and swing-men are typically only around to get you to the next game, not to actually win games.

    Right, so if we're getting non-competitive performances from two of the five rotation arms, who cares if it comes from Matthews or claiming Martin Perez off of waivers? This team stressing about having rotation depth is crazy if the depth isn't any better, or even worse, than the off the rack pitchers available to every team. If Matthews can now or later be an asset in the pen but a liability in the rotation, it's a no-brainer.

    I had high hopes for Matthews as a starter, but at some point you need to make the switch, and that point is clearly now. I disagree that starting pitching depth is needed if this is what the depth looks like. If you're in a pinch and you need a guy in the rotation, Matthews hasn't shown that he can do any better than the guys floating around on the waiver wire. Relief work is valuable too, and the bullpen needs velocity. He might struggle with the switch right away, but hopefully by next year, he's the next Jax/Duran/Varland.

    Putting Klein back in the rotation was baffling. And Matthews should switch now too. He probably won't get that starter-turned-velocity boost this year, but put him in the MLB pen right now and condition him to be a late inning guy for next season.

    Not going to be upset with Lewis; that's shaping up to be a pretty poor draft class. Yeah, you probably pick Hunter Greene in hindsight? But, he's on his second TJ, so good chance he's already done.
