  1. Will we get to see a Gibby shutout? Or will Paulie call upon his fellow eastsider to come in and give the Royals offense the self-esteem boost they desperately need with a 6-run 9th?
  2. I played 6 years, with the last two of that as a 275-pound lineman and I had 5. It doesn't take much to get one and once you do, it's much easier to get another. A couple of years ago I caught myself in the temple with a door and gave myself #6. Once the door opens, it can be quite the party.
  3. I wonder if he's still got me blocked on Twitter.
  4. Yeah, but he can only throw to left side of the field, so they'd just stack the defense over there.
  5. For me it's the .621 OPS in the second half. And the fact that he goes up there with seemingly no intention to do anything but walk.
  6. First handful of takeaways tonight: 1) This Kyle Gibson lookalike that attacks the zone instead of nibbling, is a refreshing change of pace. 2) I thought Rob's only real value to this team was his ability to "mash" LHP. If he can't swing a bat righthanded, does he really offer much to the team right now? 3) Buxton
  7. Giminez, Adrianza and Granite. Berrios in Molly's doghouse or what?
  8. Probably right, but they could also use a RH bat off the bench. So maybe Garver gets a shot.
  9. Is Romero getting extra rest or what? Looks like it's gonna be at least 9 days between starts.
  10. Mauer - Lunesta Vargas - Mr. 14608 Molitor - Lame Duck Dozier - Cuddy Jr.
  11. If they were to automate the strike zone, would Castro have any remaining value?
  12. I thought last year was a pretty good indication that Esco was better as a utility guy than an everyday SS - hit less than .250 when playing SS last year and had a .970 fielding percentage. Good guy to have around, but I don't he's best suited to have an every day position.
  13. I don't have an issue with any team taking a flier on a Rule 5 guy. My problem is continuing on with the experiment when it pretty obviously isn't working. This passed that point long ago. Having said that, I'd rather Haley start a game for this team than give Bart another shot.
  14. Only 32. Nowhere near veterany enough.
  15. To me, an average (if he's lucky) 2-month rental wouldn't be a worth a Top-20 prospect if picking up the majority or entirety of the remaining contract. Someone outside of there, fine, and adjust accordingly based on the money - but I wouldn't go above 15 for this particular rental.
  16. Earlier I stated he was an average pitcher that they shouldn't give up much for and was given statistics from the Falvinites that show that he was above average. So I went back and found numbers that showed he was in the middle. That's it. He's an average pitcher that I don't want them to overpay for. End of story.
  17. I doubt the Reds would appreciate Falvey trading Turner.
  18. And his ERA+ is exactly the league average of 100, and in virtually every statistical category he's in the bottom half to bottom third among the 36 qualifying NL pitchers. See, it's easy to cherry pick numbers to support an opinion.
  19. I'm right there with you on Stewart. Especially the way he's been throwing since his return from the DL.
  20. LEN3 is tweeting that the Twins might get a 2nd player in the deal, so the prospect could be a bit higher than I was hoping. Ugh.
  21. Might as well give them Melo ... Falvine seems to have no plans for him.
  22. For a rental that's the epitome of league average, the give better not be too significant.
  23. Moncada left the AAA game early tonight. Perhaps he's on his way to take Frazier's place on the roster?
  24. Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident.
