  1. Less than one minute. That's how long I made it into the broadcast before I had to mute it. How these FSN clowns can - with a straight face - compare Dozier to Killebrew is beyond me. This top-to-bottom housecleaning should also include the TV and radio guys. This is absolute garbage.
  2. The only "highlight" I've seen from Schafer was the other night when he fell over jogging toward second. Unless I'm missing something.
  3. Would've been nice to see them let Kepler come back today and try to put a bad game behind him, rather than be able to sit and think about it. But, hey, I guess you've gotta make sure Weapon X gets a good, long look. There's so many examples of absolute garbage players really hitting their stride after 30, that you don't want to overlook this one. I'm hoping we're 26 games away from a resignation.
  4. Rob wouldn't have been in the frame on the screen on that one either.
  5. Did they just really quote Molitor as saying he wants to see what they've got in Logan Schafer? Nothing. The answer in what you have in Logan Schafer is nothing. He's a 4th OF for a independent league team. The fact that the manager thinks there might be something there makes me hope this losing streak carries on and forces him to resign.
  6. Santiago and his agent have nicknames for each other.
  7. And the righty. Good thing Rob's way better from that side of the plate.
  8. "Hank, it's your agent. You're a Minnesota Twin now. Do you know what that means? That means one good start gets you a contract for next year - two or three probably gets you a long-term deal. Pelfrey, Nolasco, Hughes ... it's like stealing candy from a baby. Now go out there and do it."
  9. I missed Logan's first AB tonight, but after watching him almost knock Kipnis over with that hot smash in the 4th I feel comfortable in assigning him a nickname ... Weapon X. Who's with me?
  10. DanSan and Grossy? You just want to see Molitor cry don't you?
  11. I'm on board with all of your moves and I'd add Santana to it and I'd roll the dice on Boshers. Yeah, he's a lefty, but he's not someone I'd lose sleep over if he didn't clear waivers.
  12. A couple of guys I'm interested in following are ones that aren't needle-movers, but for some reason I'm intrigued by them. I'm happy to see Cederoth remaining relatively healthy and consistent. Those walks are probably cause for concern though. I also like watching John Curtiss' lines. Again, the walks are probably a cause for concern, but he seems to miss some bats. I'm pleased you included Walker on there, too. Position flexibility, good fielder ... he's got Twins written all over him, so it's nice to see him starting to put together a good offensive season. Never thought I'd see that out of him.
  13. I'm with you on this one. He might never be the ace he was projected to be, but he's been getting guys out at every stop. Just like I'm not expecting Gonsalves to continue putting up numbers in the majors like he has in the minors, I'm not ready to call Stewart a bust yet. Too early for both - along with Thorpe, Jorge, Romero, etc. - to be pigeonholed as saviors or scapegoats. Jay, I'm a little more concerned with. Not because of results, which I thought were pretty good early on, but because of the lack of innings and having to shut it down. He could still get there, I'm just hoping it's not as a LHP setup man. That would be disappointing.
  14. I'm with you on this one. I'm about the furthest thing from a Tommy Milone fan, but I think he's got a role on a big league team ... preferably one I don't watch. Albers, however, I see no upside to having on a 40-man roster. He strikes me as the kind of guy you stash at AAA and call up if half of your MLB rotation is injured, along with the swing man, the AAA and AA pitchers on your 40-man and one of the other organizational fillers can't catch a flight.
  15. "Back in my day," prospects were given beyond their age 22 season before people started labeling them as busts or suggesting that they nut up or shut up. Seriously, some of the comments on here are absolutely ridiculous. Has he been bad? Yup, he sure has. But he's also insanely young ... he's actually considered very young for the International League at this point. Fans need to give him time to develop, management needs to give him some actual direction and instruction (seriously, getting shuffled around between levels every 50-60 games can't allow him to become comfortable anywhere) and prospectors need to stop labeling these kids as "the next (insert whatever name is hottest right now so long as both players share the same ethnicity and body type here)" - it's not good for the prospects, the team or overzealous fans. It wasn't until the last handful of years that players so young were actually "supposed" to be superstars right away. Honestly, if it weren't for the "he's like Mike Trout because of Cedar Rapids" comparisons, Harper succeeding at age 19 or being drafted right after Correa, how many people would be upset that a 22-year-old isn't quite ready to hit a big league breaking ball?
  16. Somewhere, Delmon Young is watching this game and laughing at Grossman's range in LF.
  17. So much for one and done. Aside from pitching, this is the worst thing Buddy Boshers has ever done to the Twins.
  18. Well, since adding someone to the 40 wasn't a concern, they could've gone a number of ways I would've preferred. Wheeler hasn't pitched since the 7th, so he could've been an option. Wimmers, O'Rourke, Greenwood, Eades, Melotakis, Slegers ... any of them would've have been preferable, despite not necessarily being the innings eater that Andrew is. Because that's all he is. We get it - he's a nice guy, you like him, it's a good story. Personally, I'm sick of good stories and feel good stories and courtesy promotions because guys have paid their dues. I'm sick of the Albers and the Berniers and Beresfords of the world. I want to see guys who can compete and contribute more than a handful of photo ops and a warm, happy feeling to the fan base.
  19. Andrew might be the nicest man to ever walk the planet, but that doesn't mean we should be happy that he's back. Even if it's as the 26th man for one game that he hopefully won't pitch in, I'm not excited that he's back on the 40-man ... too much temptation for the brain trust to think he's worth another extended look. He's not. He's Pat Dean, but friendlier because he's Canadian. Perhaps even scarier is that there wasn't a single other pitcher already on the 40-man roster deemed worthy of a one-day call-up.
  20. Great to see Garver getting pushed up the ladder. Hopefully the kid takes the opportunity and runs with it ... that position is there for the taking. And good for Blankenhorn, too. Any word on whether he'll stick at 2B or shift back to 3B now that he's apart from Cabbage?
  21. If we're looking at this through Molly Goggles, the correct answer is "wherever Danny doesn't want to play that day."
  22. They've almost gotta have him on a plane for Chattanooga pretty soon, right? Or will he have to wait until someone gets bumped up a level?
  23. Even if they were healthy he would've stuck with Santana. He is the Franco to Molly's Rogen.
