  1. You think THIS team is gonna need rotation help? Are you forgetting about the elite talent they've assembled 1-5?
  2. The best news about this inning? It might be Kintzler-proof.
  3. Any time Joe doesn't have to swing these days, he's gonna take it.
  4. Now that's how a cleanup hitter drives in runs.
  5. If the New Triangle of Authority decides to use that extra year, I'm done. I can't watch Buxton try to cover for DanSan and Robert on a regular basis. How they ended up with two players I dislike as much as I disliked LNP is a mystery to me.
  6. Having been in attendance for the 2-error botch job Robert had last year, if he even smells the warning track dirt this season Molitor's job should on the line. He's not just bad defensively, he's laughably, offensively bad out there. Bad angles, poor speed, bad judgement, below average arm. Other than throw himself in front of a screaming line drive to knock it down, I don't see what he brings to the table in the field.
  7. I really wish they had an actual DH on this team instead of whatever Robert is (I refuse to call grown men 'Robbie').
  8. Seth, I'm actually quite surprised and impressed at the realistic-looking numbers you have with Robbie. You seemed more high on him than virtually anyone last year, so I expected higher everything in your projections.
  9. Out of options, can't be sent down without threat of losing him.
  10. Except for the fact that he's out of options. So barring injuries he won't spend time in Rochester as there's no way he'd pass through waivers to get sent down.
  11. Terrible defensive outfielders everywhere hate you right now for comparing their skills to Robert's.
  12. Better hashtag for this team: #MoveOver62Mets or #TheDriveFor105
  13. So, Robbie Grossman is the everyday DH, Danny Santana is still employed and they're using an 8-man bullpen? If I had three nightmare scenarios for this roster, two of them are listed above. Absolute garbage.
  14. Very little about this bullpen surprises me, and even less impresses me. I can't wrap my head around continued for success for Kintzler due to his inability to miss bats. Breslow hasn't been good for a while, Belisle has been OK the last few years, but late-30s pitchers scare me as they can drop off quickly. Rogers = cool. Pressly = cool. Tonkin, I'm lukewarm on. If he can do something about giving up long balls at a Radkeian pace, and it'd be nice to see the inherited runs % drop some more. I do, however, like his arm and am hopeful that not being a de facto long man will help. Haley? I don't think they would've really missed out on much by letting him go back to Boston, but is there anyone better and ready for that role right now? I think this is going to be rough season on the mound.
  15. Honestly, while I don't think they're impossible numbers for him to reach, I think the only one he even comes close to is doubles. Given his age, injury history and recent track record due to both, I think .281 is unlikely, as are the HRs and the OPS. I think .265, with 6 and .715 are more likely. Not saying he won't reach Seth's predictions, but I just don't see it.
  16. How so many pieces from a 103-loss team are back just befuddles me - and supplemented only by a Saber darling catcher and a bunch of "character" guys. Me thinks it's gonna be a REALLY long season.
  17. I really wish the Wonder Twins were making the call on this instead of Molly and Allen. I really have zero faith in either of them.
  18. Does the 4th option year work the same as regular options or are there special rules for it? This year will count as an option regardless of how many times he's up and down, right? So, at least in theory, we could start in Rochester, come up for injuries and go back when that time is up without being exposed to waivers. Although I'm not sure if this 4th year has special rules connected to it.
  19. I don't think the question is if it will be under 0, rather how much under.
  20. Looks like Big Pelf and Garza will also be on the market next offseason. http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/2018/starting-pitcher/ I'd kick the tires on Pineda and Darvish, and probably Cobb, too, depending on health. Like several mentioned, I wouldn't necessarily spend just to spend, however. Can we just save up all of the Twins' pennies to make a run at Shohei Otani? Sure, Asia hasn't been kind yet to the Twins, but one will have to stick at some point, right?
  21. Stop, you're ruining their narrative for why this isn't a permanent move.
  22. The negative energy started after they kept bringing in washed up vets after inking the king of pitch framing.
  23. What are you even talking about? It appears you're either confused, or you didn't bother to read my post. I mentioned that you should be trying to fill the top of your rotation when drafting that high. If you think those 27 pitchers were drafted that high with eyes toward solidifying the bullpen, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.
  24. I hope you're right, and at times I think you are. Then guys like Breslow and Vogelsong are brought in and I'm left scratching my head. If there's one place that veteran JAGs aren't needed, it would seem to be in the bullpen/back of the rotation.
  25. I think it's just that it seems to be happening so early in his career. Fad he been given more time to start and either fail or continue experiencing arm fatigue, or whatever we want to call it, people wouldn't be so critical of the pick. It just feels rushed and/or an indication that, despite what both sides are saying, they don't think his arm will work in the rotation. The other problem I have with this is that it's being done under the guise of getting him to MN quickly. While most/all of the other young arms are seemingly being brought along slowly, why are we to believe that Jay is the exception? He's had arm "issues," so why are his issues not as big of a deal as Burdi's or Romero's? The whole thing just seems weird to me.
