  3. The Minnesota Twins, who have been desperate for runs this season, scored seven times and lost for the second-straight game Wednesday. Joe Ryan had a short and laborious start. Down in the minors, Jorge Polanco was tested at third base for the Saints but passed. Kyle Garlick hit a go-ahead grand slam for St. Paul. Yunior Severino hit his 20th home run of the season for Wichita while Wind Surge teammate Brooks Lee also homered in a four-hit game. All that and more in tonight's Twins System Recap.   5. The Minnesota Twins and 2023 first-round pick Walker Jenkins finally came to an agreement on a contract just hours before the signing deadline on Tuesday. Jenkins gets slightly over what was slotted for the No. 5 overall pick, signing for $7.1442 million. The Twins have had some great comebacks of late but this evening the Mariners turned the tables. Seattle scored seven runs in the final two innings to come away with the win. Down in the minors, Jorge Polanco played third base for the Saints and Caleb Thielbar made a rehab appearance in St. Paul. The Twins erased a 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the ninth before pulling out a victory over the White Sox in the 12th inning thanks to a Ryan Jeffers walk-off single. The Kernels trailed 6-4 in the bottom of the ninth but won on a Ben Ross walk-off hit. The Mighty Mussels were down 7-1 in the eighth inning but scored 10 unanswered runs to win. Alerick Soularie showed off his incredibly streamlined swing on a homer for Wichita while Hunter McMahon showed how to pitch smarter not harder. In Cedar Rapids, Tanner Schobel -- Midwest League Player of the Month for June -- stayed hot. He was 3-for-3 with a homer and a pair of walks. One of his singles came on a nine-pitch at-bat.
