The Minnesota Twins were walked off in Boston tonight after failing to protect a two-run lead they built in the top of the 10th inning. It was another rough night for the bats, as they combined to strike out 16 times. On the minor league side, players highlighted include Alex Kirilloff, Bailey Ober, Mark Contreras, Brooks Lee, DaShawn Keirsey Jr., Blayne Enlow, Jaylen Nowlin, Noah Miller and more. -

Pablo López delivered a strong start of his own, giving up a pair of runs over six innings, but it wasn't enough to prevent New York from salvaging a split. Down on the farm, Joey Gallo, Alex Kirilloff and Jorge Polanco all continued their rehab assignments, Brooks Lee made a highlight play at shortstop, Zebby Matthews had another scoreless start and Carlos Aguiar hit two home runs. The Minnesota Twins came from behind to beat the Yankees in New York behind a strong performance from Carlos Correa, who drove in three of the team's four runs. Louie Varland delivered aquality start and racked up eight strikeouts before Emilio Pagán, Jorge López and Jhoan Duran shut the door. The Minnesota Twins smoked the Yankees in New York 11-2 Thursday evening. The lineup hung up a nine spot in the top of the first inning and Joe Ryan cruised from there. Edouard Julien picked up both his first MLB hit and home run -- both in the first inning of this game. Michael A. Taylor also homered twice. Byron Buxton helped the Minnesota Twins get to 2-0 on the season by taking a few extra bases Saturday in Kansas City. A gutty performance from a struggling Sonny Gray plus another strong bullpen performance resulted in another shutout.
