  1. They've been fun to watch the last couple of weeks. There have been one or two blips in there where you just shake your head, but overall they've been enjoyable to watch. It's good to see the youth be the main catalyst too. I don't really believe that they'll continue on that pace, but it does give me something to look forward to for the second half. Hopefully a couple of the veterans are dealt and the youth movement continues.
  2. That is correct. [insert Chris Farley removing his shirt gif that I don't have and am too lazy to look for]
  3. This is my concern as well. I think this also applies to Molitor. I'm not even convinced moves will be made if they continue their 1st half pace. Any improvement on that pace only makes me more afraid.
  4. To little to late for me. I'm ready for a change even if they win every single game the rest of the way. I'd argue that several of the moves he was forced to make in the last two weeks due to injury should have been done at least a month ago injury or not.
  5. Poll response by combat.
  6. I agree completely. A lot had to go wrong to get to this point, no doubt. I think a lot of the mistakes the FO made only compounded things. Many of the early struggles are a direct result of constructing a puzzle where the pieces didn't fit together. Molitor isn't blameless either, but his job was made more difficult because it was nearly impossible to put together an optimal lineup with what he was provided.
  7. Recently, we're learning what it's like when they're clicking a bit too. They're supplementing the lineup enough to keep things moving along with Kepler and the veterans. The fact that they're hitting a little is a big reason this lineup has put up a ton of runs in the last week or so.
  8. I'd argue that a team hoping to break 50 wins shouldn't have any value for a early 30's aged pitcher still owed $34M. He'd have more value to them on the trade market. He won't have any value to anyone by the time a team in this situation would have interest in that same pitcher.
  9. I think that is reflected in the amount of popups we see. A more compact swing would help him square up the ball more consistently and enable him to drive the ball better.
  10. I think his overall approach seems to be improving. It still needs work, but improving nonetheless. The fact that he's at least making contact more frequently reflects that, IMO. I look for him to cut down on the popups, but I'll take popups over K's any day. At least make them field it. It'll be fun to see how he progresses down the stretch.
  11. My wife and I do this frequently, especially this year since we're "boycotting" the concessions. It comes in handy when we don't have the opportunity to grab a bottled water somewhere else and want something to sip on through the game.
  12. TF is a great ballpark. Nice spot to watch a game. Minneapolis come late September is a nice time to be in town as well.
  13. As others have mentioned, getting tickets will be easy and you should have your choice of locations inside Target Field whether you buy them directly from the Twins or Stubhub. Stubhub will be cheap and guaranteed. Walking up and buying them directly from the Twins won't be an issue at all either. We all suspect pretty dismal attendance by that point in the season, so waiting till game day would be a wise choice. Enjoy your stay in the States and here in Minneapolis!
  14. I assume that it's more common, relatively speaking, in the minors for a pitcher to start both legs of a double header, but when was the last time that's happened in the majors?
  15. Wuss. Where's your sense of adventure?!
  16. Never heard of a Sharknado I see.
  17. Ha! Now that I know I couldn't do. Way too many people out there and I enjoy the changing of the seasons. I'll leave you to enjoy LA! I have a good friend that lived out there for 5 or 6 years before he came back. He couldn't do it any longer.
  18. I had a coworker in college from India. It was a particularly cold, cloudless, and sunny January day in Fargo and we were walking to lunch. It was his first winter in ND, and he looked out the window and commented on how nice and warm it looked outside. I stopped and looked at him for a second and crack a rye smile. I laughed and proceeded to explain to him that a cloudless, sunny day in January isn't something to celebrate in that part of the world unless you like it really cold.
  19. Hard not to like a kid that has come as far as he has. I'm not only happy for him, but I enjoy watching him play as well.
  20. I've had heat stroke, so heat is not my friend. Though, I wasn't a fan of heat before that either. Humidity is even harder on me. I've worked and camped in everything from -20 plus wind to 100 plus humidity. Even if I can't move dressed for -20, I can still function. It's hard to dress for 100+ and more difficult for me to function. I'm overly cautious in those conditions. To each their own obviously, but I'll take the cold.
  21. If it got to that point, there likely would be plenty of pain and suffering on my part as well.
  22. That's informative. Having only flown into DFW once in the early morning and upon walking outside immediately walked into a wall of humidity, I had simply assumed that my previous understanding of most of Texas was correct. I learned something today. I'll still take the -20. I'm not a fan of heat. At least it's better than a humid heat though.
  23. "Game-time forecast: 95 deg F (but feels like 101)" But it's a wet heat... Ick. Give me -20 any day. At least I can put more clothes on. I can only take so much off without getting arrested. I don't really want to be arrested.
  24. That does take some luster off of it, doesn't it?
