  1. Lavelle's tweets and articles never really interest me but I really enjoy him on the radio where he seems to be more candid
  2. The "keep Dozier" crowd seems to me to be taking a very shortsighted look at the whole situation. The twins need to be thinking 3 to 4 years ahead when there is a chance for our pitching and offense to match up. There is no way we are turning the pitching staff around in 1 year, so we may have a very good Dozier again next year but we will still be terrible. Or else Dozier struggles and we blew a huge opportunity. Why risk it?
  3. Absolute no brainer to trade Dozier now. He's a legitimate star and will bring back a nice haul. We can have Dozier and continue to be bad or we can use Dozier to jumpstart the next era of good Twins baseball. We do not need a star 2nd baseman when we are 3 to 4 starting pitchers and multiple position players away from competence. We are looking at another rebuild of at least 3 years before we are contenders. I am confident a good GM will acknowledge this
  4. Keep Molitor around and compete for the 1st overall pick. Then let the new leadership start from scratch. Molitor can't be here next year though. This team makes far too many mistakes that I would be upset at a little leaguer for making
  5. Well not sure what you were listening to because it was Plouffe that got hit in the face and it was an impossible hop
  6. If there's controllable, high upside pitching that can be had for Dozier it should be done. We have enough offense to overcome his loss.
  7. Odds are Thome probably tried a steroid or two back in the 90's too just like everyone else from that era
  8. I don't think he'll sign with us either. I do think the casual fan would be more likely to go watch the Twins with him on the team in September. I also don't believe he's as despised as you say. His 700th homerun will/would get him an ovation wherever he is
  9. I would try if I were the Twins. Not a whole lot of positives from a baseball standpoint except maybe Sano gets to pick his brain a little bit. Consider though that Target field will be empty in September as the club now stands. Arod chasing 700 would probably fill the place. So business wise it's a yes. Baseball wise it's a no.
  10. Have him work to improve his defense (he's not that old, it can be done) and suddenly he's a pretty good player to have on the roster
  11. There aren't other options, which is the issue and his point I believe
  12. Classic Twins. Wait until it's convenient to bring a guy up rather than do it when it's the right time
  13. IF he is qualified, does he have the guts(for lack of a better term) to break up the country club atmosphere that is perceived by the public? This is the real issue this organization faces. Fans know an outside hire won't be afraid to shake things up, which is why the outsider is so appealing.
  14. Twins and Wild have brutal broadcasts on FSN. Doesn't surprise me
  15. One thing I've learned over the last 20 years... Never trust a GM with two first names
