  1. What does Dozier's tear do more for? His trade value or the likelihood that TR holds onto him?
  2. Grossman opo! You jinxed him Willi!
  3. On Milone: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 5 times, shame on me. I really hope May gets stretched out.
  4. I don't think that's how that works.
  5. Better late than never! Sometimes the Twins don't show up until top 2 either. I was about to say so far so good for Milone. As I started typing, Frazier went yard again.
  6. If you can't figure it out on your own, we're not going to tell you. /s
  7. Don't forget 6 year olds throughout youth baseball.
  8. That would have been preferable over signing an unknown 30 year old from Korea, which created more problems than it solved. And I've never really been an Arcia fan.
  9. This is an interleague game right? RIGHT?!
  10. Gardy was complaining that he was spending too much time teaching fundamentals. They've been eroding for a while.
  11. Not sure that you aren't that far off.
  12. Agreed. It plays into the total system failure bit too. They are terrible fundamentally, which is an indictment of the farm system too. A lot of this stuff is mind bogglingly stupid baseball that the skipper doesn't appear to hold anyone accountable for. There's a theme with that.
  13. That's the worst part. Much of it has nothing to do with talent. It's just exceptionally stupid baseball.
  14. Exactly. And I'm not trying to suggest that you felt that he should be given up on. I don't really think sending him to AAA will help in the grand scheme of things, but it serves little purpose to watch him flounder with the big league club. Sending him down likely helps the big league club and might free his mind a bit. It does give someone else a chance. But the fact that he does look completely over-matched is an issue that will be hard to resolve at his age.
  15. This point drives me absolutely nuts and you nailed it. He gets credit for properly identifying the issue, but that all gets taken away when he did nothing to actually rectify the situation. My head explodes every time I think of this. This^^^^ I can't agree with or like this post enough. You're either trying to win or you're not. TR said repeatedly that the plan was to contend this year, but then did very little to improve the roster and did next to nothing to actually improve upon the weaknesses of the roster. On top of that, the biggest move that he did make created more problems than it solved - mainly because it solved a problem/weakness that didn't exist.
  16. In my view, he's a rookie. Just as I wouldn't give up on any other rookie, I won't completely give up on him either. That being said, I know that we've previously agreed that he can't hit a MLB fastball. That's always an issue. As a 30 year old, its not as though he's going to get any younger and finding more bat speed is unlikely. I'm not giving up on him yet, but I don't have a lot of optimism that he'll pan out. Then again, I've hated the move all along. So perhaps I can't look at this objectively.
  17. If only this would force TR to resign...
  18. Interesting take. Not the closer part, that I can get behind if his health holds up. The age thing. He's only 26.
  19. The rehab stint is a perfect opportunity to stretch him back out and get him back in the rotation. I've always hated the move to the pen, even though I fully understand the why. Even so, it's always felt like a shortsighted move in my opinion. Short story long, stretch him out and get him back in the rotation. This team has needs in both areas, but starters are much more difficult to come by.
  20. I was alarmed by that point too. BP is not just to warm up, its also practice. Practice with a purpose.
  21. I read that and my side instantly started to hurt. That does not sound fun at all. Good luck, Mr. Hughes.
  22. Agreed. I didn't like the deal at the time, but it was more about Jepsen than anything else. In order to get better, sometimes you have to deal prospects. Prospects are baseball's currency for all intents and purposes. All of the whining about losing a prospect doesn't change anything. Personally, it generally doesn't even make me feel better either. At some point, it's just time to move on.
  23. I have no interest in hijacking this thread, but I challenge you to ask friends and family of a loved one that was killed by a drunk driver to see if they feel that DUI is a victimless crime.
