  1. That's what I figured. I recall the leg kick discussion. Hopefully he's just pressing and falling into bad habits because of it and not simply just not retaining it. How long has he had the wonky twist deal in his swing? Is that a recent development or has that been there through the minors? If that's been there through the minors, why wasn't it addressed earlier?
  2. Please enlighten those who aren't watching.
  3. Agree completely. I continue to be rather bewildered as to how he is still on this roster.
  4. On the replay, it just looks like the ball was just out of his reach to me. Not sure the route mattered since he was still there in time. I'm also watching that on my phone, so there is that.
  5. Are we sure that it was done on purpose?
  6. I'm not watching either, but my At Bat notification that I just received says "Plouffe exits the game with an apparent leg injury." Very helpful, I know.
  7. LOL! I kept waiting for him to fall flat on his face. Was disappointed. Maybe the baseball will make up for it.
  8. Whatever the reason, they're probably doing you a favor.
  9. Score a run, give it right back... Just like clockwork.
  10. Wait, he identified a problem and made corresponding moves to fix it?!?!!?!?!?!? Is that legal? {head explodes}
  11. I've heard/read that a few other places too.
  12. Good to see Buxton doing damage on the bases when he does get on. Nice to see the aggressiveness. He's less tentative than he was in his first stint. Now if he would just get on more often...
  13. That and probably an attempt to beat the subtle shift put on him. Most teams pitching him away and then shade to LF. Looking for something to rip into the RF corner is a good idea.
  14. According to the Phillies' radio guys, that is Howard's 5th HR off of Nolasco. He appears to own him. The score a run, immediately give it and more back is the story of this pitching staff.
  15. Brilliant marketing campaign. Free advertising!
  16. The struggles of the veterans is what makes the lack of playing time for the youngin's all the more infuriating. Hope you're right on Buxton today. I was hoping he'd take better advantage of Philly's crap pitching.
  17. Looking at the Cubs quickly, all of their top prospects that have been called up in the last few years have all been called up from AAA. Bryant had 330 ABs at AAA. Rizzo had 350 before the Padres called him up and then another 250 after he was traded to the Cubs. The Cardinals operate similarly, see Randal Grichuk. Buxton and Sano both skipped AAA completely before being called up, IIRC. These are quick snapshots of the first names that came to mind, I don't have the time right now to dig into it deeper.
  18. I think another question would be, is this team in the position where trading prospects is wise? I think in the right situation yes, but it depends on who your getting and what it'll cost. In general though, I don't feel this team is close enough to being a contender to do such a thing yet. They need many pieces, not just one or two. But there are situations where I'd love to see it. #1 or #2 starters would be on that short list. In fact, that basically is the list.
  19. I think you'd be doing well if you could get a top 100 prospect for him. Otherwise, I think the answer is simply not trading him. The question then becomes, is he going to be your 2B when this team should be peaking in 3 to 5 years? I don't and I think Polanco will eventually take over. Another question would be, do you trade Polanco? Does he have more or less value than Dozier? I worry a bit that Dozier is a Dan Uggla type.
