    I think Cave and Wade are fighting for the 4th OF spot but isn't the question whether they'll keep Kirilloff in St.Paul long enough to gain another year of control? Or has that ship sailed because the Twins played him in the playoffs? Maybe somebody can clarify the rules on that.

    Oh yeah, bubonic plague was the you-know-what back in the day. Problem is you have to have rats and fleas to keep it going and, other than Ben and Socrates, rats aren't much fun. Malaria and yellow fever might be a better fit here in the land o' lakes, at least in the summer.

    The MLB streaming package and Sirius XM for times in the car. The MLB channel (89) on Sirius XM has great baseball discussions for following all baseball news.

    I agree with not trading Larnach. Somebody will get hurt in the outfield and he'll reward that decision and then he'll rise up these rankings big time. Fitting all of our outfielders into a lineup is a good problem to have. Starting pitching is what we really need but I hope we don't trade Larnach or Kirilloff to get it.

    Yep, the White Sox hatred is what resonated the most for me although the Jason Kubel jersey entry was pretty funny. In order to rekindle my long-simmering hatred for the Pale Hosers, all I have had to do for years is to tune into a Hawk Harrelson broadcast (no choice out here on the East Coast when it's a Sirius XM game in Chicago). He's such a homer--it's infuriating. Oh yeah, memories of the AJ Pierzynski/Ozzie Guillen White Sox years has that affect on me too. Blech.

    10 games with KC in August--let's hope we've got their number. Is that first game against the Cubs on Wednesday night just a warm-up preseason game? Hope it is televised or viewable in some way . . . sooner is better!

    Go Eddie Go! Loved him ever since his first major league at-bat, a home run in front of his parents and the home town fans. I wonder if he'll be raking this shortened season as our young corner outfield prospects are starting to breathe down his neck. I wonder who gets moved, and when, out of our abundance of outfielders? What will our outfield look like in 2 years? That was a ton of fun Nick--thank you!

    Let's crank it up boys and get ready to roll. Nelly, Josh, Mitch, Max, Eddie, Jorge and Miggy gotta launch the bombas while Luis is stingin' the ball and Buck is flyin' round the bases (and hopefully not into any walls). Stay safe--health is going to be doubly important in this short season.

    Of the most memorable Twins games that I have attended in person, the 3-triple game is only behind the 1991 playoff and World Series games (didn't make it to the '87 post-season games). Denard was exciting to watch and a first-class person. Thank you Denard!

    Nick, this is fun, great job. So I'm wondering whether the sim engine factors in past performance (momentum) for the next games(s) or are they truly random and so one game is independent of the previous games. The reason I ask is because Matthew Boyd may revert to the mean by getting better than he has performed so far whereas Alex Wood may revert the other way. If so, the Boyd deal looks better and the Wood deal looks worse. On the other hand, if momentum is a thing in the sim then I'd jump on the Wood trade.

    I thought the summer of '77 was a lot of fun because of Carew's race for .400. I recalculated his batting average after every at bat when I got to watch the game. I believe that is a big reason why I now teach Statistics. What a season for Rodney. Another connection with him is that I used to take the train in Panama to see my girlfriend on the Atlantic side when I lived on the Pacific side. Rod was born on that train, on the Atlantic side. Loved watching #29 (and #6 and #3 and #28).

    We don't know how this will turn out but we got a "Win Now" piece that we needed, and I am just impressed as he** that our FO is wheeling and dealing with a purpose that most of us can understand. Dang, we are pushing in the chips... and we didn't lose Kiriloff, Larnach or Lewis.

    He definitely needs a bounceback year. 2018 was arguably the best of his entire career with 35 games started, almost 200 innings, a 15-8 record, and a 1.16 WHIP. That's what we need. Then there's 2019 . . . ouch.
