    That's tough. I'm hoping that you start making your money back soon. It reminds me of a bet two of my buddies made before the 2013 season. It was $100 bet on which team would win more games, Twins or White Sox... in 2015. They were betting on minor league prospects but one could argue that Torii Hunter helped decide that bet.

    I think if he was willing to pitch in the minors, he'd probably be pitching in the minors for the Nationals already.

    I see that the Twins sent their "A" squad to support Mr. Hughes. It is rather what a 3 hours bus ride will do to a spring training lineup.

    I'm still looking for the details, but since this is a blind bidding process, there is no way to know for sure how much the second place bid was for. I'm looking for the article, but I seem to remember reading that the 2nd place bid was not far off from the $12.85M though. It looks like MLB Trade rumors stated there were multiple $10M+ offers out there though. This article says that there were at least 12 teams involved with the bidding process, but there is no way to know which teams those were. Here's another article that goes through a list of teams that put in bids for Park.

    Congrats to Ichiro. He's an amazing player and he should be voted into the HOF unanimously, although there will probably some jerk hold out.

    I was unaware that Ralph Fiennes was on the 25-man roster. I must have missed that during this year's trade deadline.

    Hangovers didn't really start to affect me until I was about 31 or 32. As a "wise" 33, I've been much better at avoiding them... but every once and a while, I still one still sneaks up on me.
