  1. I look forward to catching him in Cedar Rapids this summer.
  2. I saw SWR pitch in Wichita and the kid has some good stuff. I look for him to begin the year in AAA with the adjustments he made at the end of last season and have a good season. Then he's just a step away.
  3. I wish him the best, looks like he has plenty of tools. Hope he can put it all together.
  4. As much as I LOVE Eddie Rosario, I don't see a reunion between him and the Minnesota Twins in the future;
  5. Terrific recap Devlin, good to see you on Saturday, and the "vibe" was definitely optomistic around Target Field.
  6. During a Minnesota Twins winter caravan stop, Willi Castro did say that centerfield was his favorite position to play. I like the team depth with Castro backing up the outfield/infield and Kyle Farmer backing up the infield.
  7. Whether or not a player participates in the playoffs depends so much on the team they are on, much more than their individual athletic ability. Would we be talking so much about Mariano Rivera if he had pitched on the Pittsburgh Pirates and rarely sniffed the post-season lik Wagner and Nathan? No, he played on some Yankee teams that were absolutely loaded that allowed him to be put in the position to pitch in the playoffs. Very rarely does an actor win an Oscar when the cast around them stinks.
  8. What a terrific analogy (and 80s movie reference on top of that.) The Twins still have assets to make a deal happen if/when needed, but right now loaded with depth offensively and have many pieces in place on the pitching staff. One of the top lessons learned from last year, and that accounted for much of their success, you can't have too much depth.
  9. Oh I'm sure they'll all be peaceful tourists walking around Cooperstown on July 21.
  10. I wish Miguel Sano the best of luck, been following him and watching him play since his days in Class A Beloit.
  11. My coffee literally shot through my nostrils. Oh' I so needed this! Thank you.
  12. Awesome read Ted and it brought back many memories. We loved visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, really wish we would have planned for two days instead of one because there is so much to see. We went in 2001 in early June, there were no crowds. Many of the shops are like museums themselves and the surrounding areas is gorgeous.
  13. Excellent read Jamie. I'd look for these M&M boys to begin the season right where they finished in Cedar Rapids. Hopefully Morris and Matthews can continue to develop and work their way up to Wichita by the end of the season.
  14. Thanks for the clarification on the specific date and team of Duensing's doubleheader victories. Clyde Doepner, the first team curator in for any MLB team, really emphasized during the tours I've experienced with him, and if something of team significance happens in a game on the road, that he want to preserve team history and bring that back to their fans at Target Field. That's why he makes calls to the team when they're on the road to make sure the objects/relics and maintained.
  15. Interesting fact about him, if my memory serves me correctly, Duensing is the only Minnesota Twins pitcher to ever be the winning pitcher in both games of a double-header...against Kansas city I think. I heard that story from Twins curator Clyde Doepner. He said the team was on the road in K.C. and he called them after the game to say he wanted Dunsing's jersey (along with other game items) for a special display at Target Field and for the team archives. P.S. - If you haven't had a pregame tour from Clyde at Target Field, I highly recommend it. I've been fortunate to have been on a couple of them.
  16. I, too, remain cautiously optimistic with regard to Emmanuel Rodriguez. Saw him play four games last season in Cedar Rapids (I know, a somehwat small sample size), and he had some lackadaisical moments on defense in centerfield resulting in an error and was looking back at the umpire several times and doing some chirping after taking some called strikes and striking out in a couple of at bats. Maybe it was just a tough series for him, but it came off as a touch of arrogance as we were watching it happen. I met him after one of the games and he was very pleasant to visit with. I wish him the best this season and in his future.
  17. Really nice read with LOTS of good info. I enjoyed several games down to Cedar Rapids to watch these boys last year and their futures look bright. I wish them the best and hope to see your insights on Morris and Matthews too.
  18. I hope this is an area they work on during the season, I really like Jeffers.
  19. Well done TD from top to bottom, excellent read and information.
  20. I love these looks back, great reads Seth. Curious to see what Brooks Lee can do this season and where he fits in with the plans for the Minnesota Twins. I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I would offer Miguel Sano a minor league deal (although I believe another team may offer him more.)
  21. I always had high hopes for Sano, and wish him the best, be it with the Twins on a minor league deal or someone else.
  22. From an emotional impact, the Tom Brunansky trade hurts the worst for me. The Twins were coming off such a high, an 87' World Series victory and then they trade an intrigal part of Mount Crushmore. I wept upon hearing the news.
