    OK, I didn't word that very well. If everyone loved to listen to Dick and Bert I would have just assumed everyone heard and I wouldn't have posted. However, I thought there was a fair chance that I was the only one who didn't have the radio crew or the Detroit broadcast tuned it. Your theory would have been plausible if Pinto's first language was English.

    Apparently it was very important to get another look at Chris Hermann, as if we didn't know already that his below-average defense doesn't help offset his lack of hitting, and that positional flexibility only helps if you can actually play the position.

    I thought we had to tie them up and throw them in the lake first. Then, if they float we burn them.

    That certainly could be the case, but we won't know until the involved parties are able to speak freely about it (when they no longer have to work together.) Hopefully we will learn more over the winter.

    On another thread, someone asked if we really thought replacing Gardy wouild turn a 90 loss team into a 90 win team. At the time, I thought that by itself, probably not, but it might get us to .500 (81 losses) and improvements elsewhere might get us there. After reading this, my "maybe" is a stronger maybe.

    Great recap on his season. His first game was definitely an uh-oh moment, but he put that behind him in a big way. There aren't many substitutes for 100 MPH. Just curious - who is the subject of that scouting report in your tag line?

    Last night it fun to see Arcia's reaction when Dozier hit the triple off the top of the fence last night - his "what's that? Is that all you've got" gesture was pretty funny.

    I was hoping for Tulsa, but it sounds like the Dodgers are locking up the state of Oklahoma. I probably wouldn't have made the 3 hr trip as often as we made it to New Britain (which is 45 minutes from my parents' house), so it's just as well we leave the live updates to you.

    I was going to post a similar picture, but I was debating between "Those are some ugly hats" and "I hope a logo change was part of the negotiations." To each his own, I guess.

    The lesson is don't take photos like that unless you don't care if the whole world to see them. Large companies have whole departments that work computer security, and they sometimes still get hacked. Your cell phone or laptop is easy pickin' if someone really wants the info. For most of us, the whole world wouldn't want to see the photos, so it's not as big a concern.

    Maybe he means we need to put a couple of them in less stressful situations, like working the checkout at Wal-Mart or pitching in Rochester, and take the pressure of pitching in the majors off them. .

    I didn't see the game, but an average velocity on the 4-seam of 86 is concerning. It was speculated that one of the reasons the A's demoted and then traded him was a loss of velocity, and so far it appears they were right. He will have a hard time succeeding unless he turn into Jaime Moyer (and convinces the umpires) or rediscovers about 5 ticks on the fastball.

    I always liked him and really hoped he would be kept around, but now I hope his turn-around at the MLB level starts on some time after tomorrow.

    So has Levi Michael decided to become a prospect again? I had written him off as a bust, but maybe it was too soon. He still doesn't hit for power and he's playing 2b instead of SS, but even when he was hitting .229 his OBP was .331, which is acceptable (except for the fact that it was at A+ and he was a college guy repeating the level.) This year he finally figured out A+ and it appears to have carried over to AA, although we're only talking about a little over 200 AB combined. Is it realistic to hope that maybe we will get some value out of that 1st round pick after all?

    If the Twins had blown the lead and lost 20-6, I would hate baseball. Winning 20-6 is OK.
