  1. Yay! I might have to make the trip north. I'm getting bored with winter!
  2. Ooooou ... Peking Duck ... so yum! If it weren't so frikken cold out, I'd hop on over to Chinatown for some of that. Pooh ... love Pooh ... Cottleston Pie!
  3. They all have major flaws, imo ... on both sides, Dem or Rep. And if I choose one of those running, I'm going to have to swallow something to do it. Right now for me, no way I vote Rep; I think I've made that clear. So it's between Clinton and Sanders. Clinton is the most experienced. I like Bernie's platform best, though. If the Donald is the nom for the GOP ... I don't think it matters who the Dem is. He'll lose. If he doesn't, then I will really push for voters to pass an intelligence test.
  4. If you don't think much of a thread topic, then don't spend your time reading it let alone responding to it. That goes for everyone. If someone here wants to have a discussion, so be it. If it's been rehashed many times before, okay. If it seems silly to you, live with it. If you don't like the 'tone,' ignore it. I can assure you that there are those out there who probably think the same of things you post from time to time. It's the way it rolls. We're not all interested in the same topics, we don't agree on much, some use different criteria to come to the same or different conclusions ... that's how discussion boards work. If something is perceived too 'negative' or 'positive' or whatever, give your rebuttal but don't do it by characterizing other posters. And I don't care how 'right' you are, you aren't; not here; even if you might be. If you really think something has crossed the line, then report without responding in thread to it. It will be dealt with as soon as we can. But this kind of 'whining' serves no purpose nor does it enhance any thread. Snark and sarcasm can be funny; but when used for ill, it's not. Let's all work on that. I realize it's a slow time leading up to lots of activity and perhaps some are trying extra hard to fill in the gaps, but perhaps it's better at times to just let it go. As for this topic, some feel Nunez has no place on the roster. Some do. Give your reasons one way or another, or don't at all. But because someone has a different take or disagrees, try not to take offense. Give your rebuttal and if you still can't come to terms, agree to disagree and go. Personally, I think Nunez has done what he's been asked to do and played his role well. That's my opinion. I don't agree with Dave, but whatever; he doesn't agree with me, either.
  5. If you go to the front page (click on 'Articles'), on that same menu bar to the right are two clickable headers ... 'Organization Chart' and 'Roster & Payroll.' I think you can find some of this there ... although I don't know when they were last updated. Welcome to the site. If you have any questions about the site, feel free to post them here or in the MinnCentric forum. If you want to start a discussion or have baseball questions, feel free to start a discussion thread in one of the three baseball forums (Twins Talk, Minor League or Other Baseball); or for other sports or off-topic things, check out the Sports Bar forum.
  6. Guys, start a separate thread to debate the usefulness or not of having Nunez on the roster. This thread is for posting and discussing arbitration outcomes.
  7. In Spanish with subtitles ...
  8. Some big names dropping early ... Alan Rickman, from cancer, at age 69. It was hard to see him as anyone else other than Hans Gruber, the big baddie in the first Die Hard movie, and then as Snape in the Harry Potter movies, but one of my early favorites of his was 'Truly Madly Deeply.'
  9. Well, just goes to show that it's not always easy to see the future no matter what the data might be telling you!
  10. Out of curiosity, what were their projections for last year?
  11. I don't think it had been mentioned anywhere specifically, so thanks for the info. I still merged it with the other thread, so maybe we can have one thread for people to post this kind of information.
  12. Heh ... of course I had to provide the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ChstJwEjIA
  13. I bought tickets to two games so far. Let the excitement build!
  14. Lol ... Which dance number specifically? Or maybe it was the 'Pole Cat' song.
  15. You guys missed a good one in Chicago yesterday. "No pants subway ride" Day. Yes, it's a thing. It was too cold so I didn't go out to ride the subways to check it out. And, well, eww. I'd need to bring my Chlorix wipes with me before I sat anywhere.
  16. No, it's not all about caucuses. We don't have caucuses in Illinois, and many states don't do the caucus system.
  17. This was sort of my point with minorities supporting Hillary. They can relate to her experience as a woman better than any white male. And I'm not trying to throw the race card in or disparage white males, but there is something to say in identity voting, as you suggest.
  18. Two greats gone in 2016 ... most will know David Bowie, doubtful many of you will know Pierre Boulez who was even greater and more iconic in the classical music world. Both very sad departures and great losses. I knew Pierre; was fortunate to have worked with him many times. He was funny, gracious, generous of his time and knowledge, and such a gentleman.
  19. Um ... The Martian is a comedy? Really? I mean, there were certainly some comical moments, but that's not the genre I'd put it in.
  20. To me Rey seemed to be a blend of Luke and Han. It made me wonder if Han had a sister he had introduced to Luke.
  21. MODERATOR NOTE: Baiting each other with inflammatory comments unrelated to the PED discussion is out of bounds. And taking up the bait is also out of bounds. Posts have been edited and/or deleted as a result. And this discussion is doing nothing at this point but running in circles. If you have nothing new to add, walk away. It's not necessary to continue reiterating opinions that have been made several times. Agree to disagree but one more comment in an effort to get in the last word gets old. And not just in this thread.
  22. The game on the 2nd is at JetBlue. The backfield games usually don't start until mid-month. I'm not even sure when the MiL report date is and the MiL schedule hasn't been released yet.
  23. Okay, well, here's my initial thought after the movie ... 'This is very much like the very first movie, IV, A New Hope.' It's like they took an old house and fixed it up ... new paint, modernized, new decor ... it's the same house, but different. But I still liked it a lot. And Mark Hamill has aged well! That was some nice eye candy at the end for this 'older chick.' Oh, and a tear was shed at the loss of Han Solo. :'( Oh, and now I can't wait for the next one!! I wasn't as ... anticipatory? ... after each of I, II and III ... but this revives the same feeling I had for the 'first' three, IV, V, VI.
