  1. Just wait and see! He's revolutionary!
  2. Yeah. There are four women that I know of who post in this site, so yay us! And to others out there who post more anonymously or just lurk ... yay them, too! Yay for women everywhere! May we all achieve equality one day the world around!
  3. How many has that been? I thought there was just the one, and he wasn't even asked, was just rumored to be under consideration and removed himself from the process before it began. But to be honest, despite this being an important issue for me, I haven't been following it too closely.
  4. Geez, you make me want to go in and edit your post and fix that last sentence even though I know you are being ironic.
  5. As I stated in the other thread, this 'bluster' about blocking any nomination from happening is the only thing they can try and do to stop Obama from even nominating anyone because once he does, they are between a rock and a hard place, and they know it. This nomination alone isn't an election issue per se, but it does make people more aware of who one votes for in other areas, Senate in this case, that it can make a difference. Long before Scalia's death, when the election thread started, I said that SC nominations were always high on my priority list and who would be making them and approving them was a major concern for me this election. As a woman, I would be voting for the Democrat no matter what, unless they were completely off the rails, and this was the reason why.
  6. Heh. And here I thought May Day was going to be about some promotional day around Trevor May.
  7. Um, yeah ... this was SFW sites and not NSFW sites. Let's stick to topic here.
  8. Depends on how much you want to watch other stuff going on. The minor leaguers are really in full swing practice mode now, so you can head down to those fields. If you haven't been to the stadium ever, or in the past couple of years, you may want to walk around the perimeter of the outfield and up to some of the new areas, like the terraces on the 1st and 3rd base sides. Personally, I like to be there 1.5-2 hrs ahead just to check out everything. Parking fills up quickly, and traffic into the stadium can back up, so I would still plan on getting there an hour ahead. If your seats are in the sun, make sure you put on sunscreen.
  9. I read that one. NPR is one my sfw sites.
  10. Similar for me, but npr instead of cnn and add nyt.
  11. Not sure this will satisfy you:
  12. I love cereal, but I don't eat it for breakfast as much anymore. If I'm hungry when I get off from work at night, I will sometimes have a small bowl. Or have it for supper sometimes, too. Or, a small bowl for dessert, if it's one of those sugary varieties that I don't often buy but sometimes can't help myself. But my 'go to' cereals are: Oatmeal Crisp (Crunchy Almond flavor) Simply Granola (Honey, Oats and Almond flavor) (usually have with yogurt but sometimes milk) Trader Joe's Toasted Oatmeal Flakes Cinnamon Life Oatmeal Grape Nuts (mostly eat this with yogurt with some cinnamon added) There's an oaty pattern there, I noticed. For sugary stuff I'll buy Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops or Reese's Puffs. I used to add Captain Crunch in there, but it's too rough on the roof of my mouth. And, again, the sugary stuff, I rarely buy anymore. As a kid ... Quisp!
  13. It's looking like I might be around on Friday. I'll come early and check out the minor league action before heading to the game. I'll be heading into the game early-ish, though, to try and get one of those terrace drink rail seats. Then I'll have to leave the game early to pick up my Dad.
  14. Cool thing happened at the park today. I was minding my own business watching batting practice on the big field adjacent to the stadium when Tony O walked by. He stopped right in front of me and says, "Wha's happening?" With a smile on my face, I gestured wide with my arms and exclaimed, "Baseball!" He then asked, "Has it been very, very good to you?" "Absolutely!" I said. Then came the question, "How are your hands?" When I responded, "Pretty good," he tossed me a baseball. (Yes, I caught it.) When he told me to check it out, I saw that it was signed. I thanked him very sincerely and then told him I watched him play when I was a little kid. He looked at me and said, "I don't believe that!" He chuckled, the people standing around laughed, and he walked away.
  15. I haven't seen one. And you'd think of all people I'd be bombarded with them since I'm only 1-2 miles from the cell.
  16. I'd actually be okay with, in fact a bit surprised by, a 60-40 split to start the season.
  17. I might be at Friday's game. It depends on family issues, and then I might have to leave early. For just one you can buy at the gate, but I learned a good trick the other day. There are some drink rail seats on the 3rd and 1st base terraces that are first come first serve. Buy the least expensive seat then just head up there. Decent view of the field (check out my vantage point from Saturday's game in the game thread), it's in the shade and you get a nice breeze up there. The one caveat is you have to get there early to nab one. So for a game at 1, I'd get there around 11:30. Since I was on the 3rd base side Saturday, if I go on Friday, I thought I'd try the 1st base side.
  18. Yup. And have the requisite half-naked muscle-toned man on a horse, hair waving in the breeze, to make it complete.
  19. It's not televised that I could find but I sure hope there's highlight film. Damn, those are the things I hate missing. Still wouldn't give up my beach view for it, though.
  20. My vantage point for the game. Or for at least part of the game.
  21. Is this Park's first time at first in a game? He was one of the ones TK was working with when I was at the park the other day. Posted pics in the Hammond Happenings thread.
  22. Not sure how closely I'll be able to follow the game today (more on that later), so I'm relying on you all to provide some play by play details! 23. No, we aren't going there again. It's been 'dealt with' ... this time.
