  1. I love watching the drills on the TK Field.
  2. I think the happiest I've been is right now ... at least so far. I don't think I've peaked yet!
  3. Bernie has NEVER been a Democrat until he decided to run for president. Period. He's caucuses with the Dems because he is closer to them than the Republicans but he has eschewed the parties in the past but now wants support from one of them.
  4. That is absolutely false! An urban legend! Any and all discussions are welcomed in game threads as long as it's not overly ... overboard and not constant ranting and name calling. But math is allowed!
  5. You know, I think that tweet of Nolasco's was waaaaaaaaay overblown, and still is, what, a year and half later. A fan of his said wishe you were here, why wouldn't he say 'So do I.' I would have, too, since the Twins did nothing and the Dodgers were in the playoffs that year. Big deal. And everyone is still cursing him for it. I should have used this for GET OVER IT Day! While this latest bit isn't endearing in the least, maybe have some fan support behind him could help boost his performance instead of wanting nothing to do where he's at. Yeah, he's a professional, act like it, but I think fan reaction with this has made it impossible.
  6. I liked what I read of today's game!
  7. Well, whatever, Twins win 8-2 with a bit of everything. Boston beat writer Tim Britton commented: "Escobar and Suzuki, who each hit homers last time up off Price, execute a perfect hit-and-run. Twins are in midseason form."
  8. The runner was at first then out at 3rd ... my guess is maybe he tried to stretch what he could take, or took too big of a turn at 2nd and got caught in between. Something like that?
  9. Oops ... you spoke too soon ... you jinxed it!
  10. Can't believe none of you started this, especially since last I looked we were up 7-0. Playing at Jet Blue today and Price gave up two solo shots. The next one in have up another plus some walks, hits, a WP and there you are. Santana made it through 3 allowing nothing and struck out the side in the 2nd.
  11. Great write up. I admit I haven't really seen Hicks, or didn't really know who I was seeing if I did, but while watching practices, I watched a bullpen session of Santana's and Murphey was catching him, and he was quite vocal about what and where and how. And after, he and Santana talked a bit about the session. Was very interesting to me as he didn't seem like the new, young guy at all. That signals to me that not only is he really getting to know the pitchers, but he's not afraid to tell them what's what. And Santana was asking him his own questions as well, so it seems to me that Murphy is developing a good relationship with the pitchers as well.
  12. That became my go to as well. I don't follow Twitter at all so I always got them online and that one was my first stop as they most often had them first, but not always. I also used: http://mlbstartingnine.com http://www.rotowire.com/baseball/daily_lineups.htm http://www.fantasyalarm.com/lineups/mlb/
  13. yeah ... Illinois, too ... wonder what the ads are like there ... I'll soon find out ...
  14. Well, definitely for good ... he is giving up his Senate seat and isn't running for re-election; and he won't win the GOP nomination let alone the Presidency, so I'm not sure what's left for him and doubtful he'll be able to successfully run for office again.
  15. Noticing the uptick of ads on television ... Trump attacking Rubio, some PAC attacking Trump ... hadn't really seen/heard any of these back in Chicago, but they are hitting Florida pretty heavily now.
  16. George Martin.
  17. Lol ... a thingabmabobby? Hahahahaha! Hehe. Most sig lines I like. I enjoyed the little snippets of personality. I found it ... interesting, if not enlightening. But now I might have to put in a sig line again and use Mike's sentence above just for the word 'thingabmabobby.'
  18. Personally, to each his/her own. I don't care if someone wants to express themselves in such a way as long as I have a way to not be forced to read/see it every time. It's odd to see a post that is a few words or one sentence long and then have this lengthy signature line. But in the process, I removed my signature, which was a Mike quote. I figured if I was going to ignore everyone's signatures, I should remove mine. Fair is fair. But many I do enjoy. Or did.
  19. What does ninja'd me mean ... that I beat you to the punch on an answer?
  20. I don't like them either, but you can go to settings, ignore preferences, and ignore signature lines indidually or en masse. I did that a while ago when I was noticing a few who felt the need to put more than a couple lines in their signatures.
  21. Not sure. Something with the line painting around home, I think? Interesting that Phillie had more regulars in their lineup than the Twins.
  22. GORGEOUS day at the ballpark today! Yes, another live game for yours truly! Will post the lineup as soon as I take a picture of it! PHILLIES Quinn CF Galvis SS Blanco 2B Franco 3B Knapp DH Goeddel LF Stassi 1B Rupp C Hunter RF Elfin P TWINS Polanco 2B Nunez SS Mauer 1B Park DH Rosario LF Kepler CF Mastroiani RF Centeno C Tovar 3B Milone P Looks like a last look for some before impending cuts. No picture lineup after all. Too hard looking at it sideways.
  23. Um, why are you only asking me and always if we were Barbie collectors? That's pretty sexist. GET OVER IT, it is. I know a lot of male collectors. If you are asking if I had a Barbie, yes, I did. I recall breaking one of her legs and using masking tape to make a cast. You'd think I'd have ended up an orthopedic doctor, but no, I became a musician. Meatballs? I prefer the Swedish variety over the Italian variety. Crab meat, yum! Crab and corn chowder, crab-stuffed anything, crab legs, crab in sushi, etc., but I'm not a fan of crab cakes, not sure why.
  24. Yeah, I was being a tad snarky, not really towards Sanders, more at his followers. And it's not that I don't like some of Sanders' ideology, I do, I just don't think it's entirely practical. Sanders is a career politician towards the end of his career. He has eschewed the major parties for that career and only joined the Democratic Party (did he officially join?) just to run for president. In some ways I feel sorry for him as he's a frustrated lifer who can't get his agenda accomplished, mostly because he hasn't worked well within the party, and now at the end of his career, what has he done to this point? And he wants the support from that and those he spent a lifetime avoiding. Yes, there are those in Congress he did work well with ... Wellstone for one, and Warren currently, and has caucused with the Dems, but he chose the outsider path. And that may be, well, noble even, but then don't all of a sudden want/need/expect support from the party when you've not just avoided them, but have been critical of the parties from the beginning. While I think both parties need some shake up and re-alignment, and Bernie and Trump have shown us that, there still is strength in numbers, which is why it's easier to work from within.
