  1. I can. It's called RiverBrian's World.
  2. I'll probably not watch ... this series was too ... not sure what, but too something for me. But I really liked the music choices.
  3. Not to diminish Van's commitment and input to this thread, but it was Mike who started it, so thank you both. And that's why I don't and won't have a boss ... I probably should, given my roundedness ... but to miss out on Devil's Food Cake Day is the biggest SHAME of them all!
  4. Yes, absolutely, compromise is how it works, which is why I had issues with Sanders. He is not a compromiser. As for your last paragraph, if Hillary can't beat Trump, it's not her problem, it's ours.
  5. As do I. I've said it before, many times in a few seasons now ... if you want change, it starts from the outside and from the top down. Short of that, same ol' same ol'. Sure, you might get lucky and hit things right, but enough is enough.
  6. This was brought up in another thread ... there are a few pages discussing this.
  7. In this case I'd say this about right. So often when teams are doing poorly ... even this poorly ... too much blame is placed on the manager and he ends up being the sacrificial lamb. While I wouldn't be against firing Molitor (he wasn't my choice to begin with), I don't know what good it does to fire him alone. As long as the GM is putting the people out on the field as he is, what's anyone to do? Hate to say it, but maybe the best course is to ride out this storm of the season and hope the right moves are made in the Fall.
  8. I think comparing Sanders to Nader is gross. I think comparing today's movement to anything Nader stood for is gross. Nader is nothing but an egotistical SOB. He cares of nothing and no one but himself. I have a heap more respect for Sanders. That said, Sanders probably would have been better off running as a 3rd party candidate all along. He only joined the Democratic Party to have a larger stage from which to push his agenda. I don't think he really cared or not if he won the nomination, it's pretty clear that wasn't really his goal.
  9. I've heard Castro from TX is a possibility? (Which Castro, I'm not sure ... aren't there brothers ... maybe the one in Congress?) I've also heard the possibility of Bernie as VP, which I wouldn't mind, but I'd really hate to lose his voice in the Senate, but at least VT isn't likely to appoint/elect someone who is a complete opposite. And wasn't there someone from Florida ... ? But yeah ... I'd be REALLY disappointed with someone like Sherrod Brown. Yuck. As I've said many times I don't have a problem with the issues he raises, as I don't think most Democrats do; and I think he should have input into the platform, now that he's a registered Democart ( ). But I do think some of his solutions would be met with a worse backlash in Congress. But that's my opinion and we've been down that road before. While I'm tired of compromising too far to the right, I also don't think that standing in an unyielding position too far to the left does much good, either.
  10. Let's dial back our own hubris here. Discuss the topic at hand without these unnecessary comparisons. But these 'Good God, how can anyone in their right mind defend this?' statements are rude and disrespectful. Disagree all you want, but do so with your own rationale without characterizing other posters and FO staff so callously. Yes, this is a moderator warning for everyone to just take a breath.
  11. I think Bernie will, though, which wouldn't be so hilarious.
  12. Oh, man ... I hope not. I'd rather have Ryan forever than put Gardy in as the GM. That will not happen because it just can't happen because, well, no. Ugh.
  13. I won't get excited about any of this. I'd say doubtful of it happening is even too much.
  14. But I like how Sano and Park are 3 and 4 and Plouffe is moved down. That seems to be sticking.
  15. Oh, I agree. It takes two to tango ... his actions were wrong, imo; and Oder's response was equally wrong. Both actions could have ended in serious harm.
  16. While I don't disagree about the slide, I still don't agree about the punch. Or brawling in general. Or intentionally hitting people with a ball. Just. No. Yes, a dirty slide like that could've taken him out of the game all season, but so could an ill-timed, ill-placed punch or pitch. For what? To prove you're right and the other one is wrong? Not in my book.
  17. I don't. Not like that.
  18. I guess, but for me the 'at least he threw it there' rationale still doesn't cut it. All it does is create an environment of 'I'll get you next time.' Focus on the game, play the game. Yeah, things get emotional and heated and sometimes passions dictate over reason, but sheesh ... fans reveling and relishing this crap is just wrong to me.
  19. Brawling is just plain stupid. Hitting people with baseballs on purpose is just stupid. Sucker punching people, whether you think they deserve it or not, is just stupid.
  20. I'm still trying to get past the title of this thread ... how is any brawl in any sport 'awesome?'
  21. Yeah ... for me it was whenever I tried to quote someone. Gave up and just went to my computer, which worked fine.
  22. Yeah, but then who? It's a problem
