    I would assume that both teams approve when they play the make up games? After today the White Sox play 20 in a row with no days off (unless I misread their schedule.) My guess is they wanted that day? And the Twins have just played 10 in a row without a day?

    I said this in the RP of the Month thread, but is Van Steensel still considered a prospect? I get that he’s kind of remaking himself into a relief pitcher, but given his years in the minors and playing elsewhere, is he really a prospect anymore? That said, I’m glad he’s doing well and hope he continues. He’s a good story.

    Because at 27yo I don’t think you can classify him as a prospect? He’s been signed and released by a couple of teams (the Twins being one), played elsewhere and is now back in the Twins org as a relief pitcher. Also, that link takes you to the org’s top 30 prospects and even if Van Steensel were considered a prospect, he wouldn’t be in the top 30.

    If he did the home run derby he could find anyone to pitch to him. In fact it might be better to find someone who didn’t know how to pitch since he seems to do especially well with pitches that are not even close to the strike zone.

    Daniel Palka hit the 1st pinch hit HR of the season for the ChiSox today against the Brew Crew. That hr put the Sox ahead and they went on to win the game and the series.

    I think that describes everyone’s expectations and frustrations with the season thus far. I’m hoping this upward offensive trend continues.

    St. Charles isn’t on the way to Winona for me, but maybe next time I’m there for the Winona Country Fair.

    Actually, the book on top is a photo book on Winona, so that top photo is of Lake Winona looking up to the bluffs. The book under it is a photo book on Minnesota called ‘Minnesota: State of Wonders.’ You can take the girl out of Minnesota, and she’ll take Minnesota with her wherever she goes.

    Back when I was a kid I wore jelly sandals that I bought for a few dollars. I’m not gonna pay $30-50 for something that is basically the same.
