  1. Glad this didn’t age well … it is INSANE here!
  2. New season, new thread, at the link below. https://twinsdaily.com/forums/topic/72964-former-twins-where-are-they-now-2026-edition/?_rid=7
  3. Stop trolling. If you don’t want to discuss this topic, don’t.
  4. Yippee Ki-Yay, MoFo
  5. Yeah! Another vote for Alastair Sim! I thought the 1984 George C. Scott to be pretty good. Wasn’t a fan of Patrick Stewart’s version.
  6. This sums it up quite succinctly.
  7. I always like watching one of the older ‘A Christmas Carol’ movies. The Alastair Sim one is most classic for me. If I have time to actually see a live production, even better. I also like seeing some of the older TV classics, although I don’t make a point to watch them every year - Frosty, Rudolph and Grinch. And no one mentioned ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’? Truly classic, as well as the Vince Guaraldi soundtrack. While van has never seen Die Hard, I have never seen ‘A Christmas Story’ or ‘Elf’ all the way through. They don’t do it for me. I like ‘Home Alone’ but I find ‘Home Alone 2’ a bit too gratuitous for me. I also like ‘Meet Me in St. Louis’ and ‘Holiday Inn’ this time of year, although I wouldn’t classify either as strictly Christmas movies, but maybe Christmas adjacent.
  8. I thought that was something already stated at the end of season. It would make sense he’d say that. He’s from there, he lives there. Even though Passan gives it a 35% chance, I’d say the chance is 50-50. I kind of expect it so it’s not going to be surprising if it happens. Wont be surprised if it doesn’t. And stop telling people they are in denial just because they don’t agree with you. It would be like me calling you a pessimistic doom seeker. We all have a point of view and at this point it is conjecture. It’s fine if you think it’s a done deal. It’s fine if others don’t. With or without Buxton, the team isn’t going to win this year or probably next. Who knows when.
  9. Guess I’m guilty of not reading it completely … or at all past the title
  10. And this has to do with the Pete Maki returning how? (Did you mis-post?)
  11. My car is over 16yrs old now. It’s still running great, only 75k miles, but I’m starting to wonder what’s next. I’m not ready for electric. While I don’t drive much, I still take road trips in the summer and don’t want to deal with finding charging stations along the way. So I’ve been thinking of a small suv hybrid. I’m not even sure what’s on the market these days, and that may all change when I do pull the trigger on a new vehicle
  12. Watkins wasn’t the worst, by far, windmill we’ve had. Scott Ullger was way worse.
  13. Hawkins won’t be in the dugout, but the bullpen. But I think he will be fine.
  14. He did some coaching during Covid, plus he’s been the coach on Team USA. I don’t know his entire resume. He’s also done some work with pitchers during ST.
  15. Hawkins is being hired as the bullpen coach, not the pitching coach. He is replacing Colby Suggs, not Maki.
  16. I think he was a fall guy but that doesn’t mean firing him was wrong. There is a lot wrong with this organization and firing Baldelli doesn’t solve a them. But his firing was still the right thing to do, imo
  17. Stop this now. If you have issues with the website PM an administrator or make your comments in the Questions About the Site forum, but keep your comments in baseball threads about baseball
  18. I don’t know why anyone thought it would be different than this. I guess hope springs eternal. Many of us said that if/when Baldelli was fired he’d be replaced with more of the same. Here we go … likely possible more of the same. However, maybe let’s wait for next season to see for certain. Yes, hope springs eternal.
  19. Moderator note: Stop with the political talk. It does nothing but drag discussion off topic. Report it or ignore it, but don’t be so triggered with the need to respond.
  20. Yeah, and this slope slid all the way to the dump
  21. Hasn’t Hunter moved on from the Twins? Doesn’t he have a job with the Angels? Wouldn’t be surprised, now that Washington is out, the Angels offer him the manager job there. Aren’t those the rumors?
  22. That wasn’t AJ. AJ didn’t join the White Sox until 2005. That incident happened in 2004 and Hunter plowed over catcher Jaime Burke.
  23. Yes, well, some things are just beyond some poster’s intellectual capacity. You said it nicer … I’m stating it plainly.
  24. The whole point is to win the WS. While I agree with the firing, we are still a long way out from that given who is calling the shots. I’m just saying that even if the right call, even if they did it two years ago, I don’t believe it moves the needle much. I want more than a few games that should have been won.
