  1. Maybe that's it. And why I go back and forth. As I said, when I searched this forum, I came up with nothing negative, and the most positive comments were from me ... heh. So ...
  2. Back in my day, I believed in Santa Claus. And the Easter Bunny ... which, looking back on it, why does anyone teach their kids to believe in the Easter Bunny? At least with Santa you can, kind of, teach 'the spirit of giving,' but the Easter Bunny? What purpose did he serve? But I never believed in the Great Pumpkin, but in my day, it was a good Charlie Brown special.
  3. Oh, blargh ... none of that nonsense here!
  4. Back in the day, we never wore bike helmets. In present day, I do sometimes, and I don't sometimes ... depends on the distance traveled and in what conditions and what route I take.
  5. Jorgenswest wasn't on the final list of three. I wouldn't have approved him/her as a moderator for the reasons you stated ... and I find him even more rigid than the others you mentioned. I initially hesitated about Hosken, then relented, and now I'm hesitant again, but, I'm going to go with it. I do think he's thoughtful and intelligent, but, I can't exactly put my finger on it, there's just something that doesn't quite sit well with me. But I go back and forth. it's done now, anyway, if Brock has actually PM'd him. We'll find out as soon as Brock is back from vacation.
  6. Is anyone having 2nd thoughts on Hoskins as a moderator?
  7. My bro-in-law makes his own pizza, doesn’t buy it, or have it delivered. Not sure if it’s due to his Italian heritage or not, but according to my sister, it’s way better than delivery.
  8. Back in my day I used to like pizza. But now it’s difficult to eat it without triggering a massive acid reflux attack. Thinnest crust, blonde, veggies only is the only pizza I can eat ... which I’ve been told isn’t pizza. So, back in my day I used to like and eat pizza. Now all I can manage is a ‘shadow of its former self’ pizza.
  9. It’s not in Chinese, is it? In ther words, subtitled?
  10. That was a good article. Partly why they have yet to commit is because they are still researching and testing to make sure they have it right.
  11. Was thinking of going to that this evening. It looked good.
  12. Back in the day, I remember playing the original Oregon Trail computer game in school.
  13. Or maybe they just have a different opinion and a different perspective. Your opinions are fine, so is theirs. My opinion is, I think the Twins are playing to what was expected before the season started. Their pitching was always suspect and now it's come back to Earth. I'm not sure I'd label it a collapse since the way they were playing in the first half was beyond expectations. Disappointing and frustrating? Yeah, without a doubt. Particularly since, well ... the particularly since stuff is another thread. Maybe instead of collapse I'd say we're coming down from our high back to normal levels. It still sucks, though, and I want the high back.
  14. And it was a very bad call.
  15. The failure came from Diaz. Let’s put the blame in the right place here.
  16. You question it? Sheesh, I don’t question it at all. He shouldn’t have been sent. Period. It was BAD. we’d have a runner on 3rd with one out. ****ing dumb. No question on that.
  17. We were a cable test community. Where we were you couldn’t pick up stations out of the Cities, Rochester or LaCrosse. Cable was a test for those communities and our only channels on cable were the major 3 networks plus a couple of independents.
  18. We had it in the 60s. Lunch with Casey Jones!
  19. Back in my day we were one of the first test communities to get cable tv. I’ve never known a time without it. And I’m far from young.
  20. I can't answer that because it's not what happened. You are asking me to play an ''iffing and hindsighting' game. But okay ... let's do that ... if the FO had addressed their weakness in the offseason, the best pitchers available then would be doing better on our team because our pitching coaches would have done better with them and our offense would have backed them up, so we wouldn't have had to do last-minute shopping now. See how that works?
  21. That may be how it worked out this time, but I would have been a lot less forgiving of doing last-minute shopping in that case.
  22. Okay ... I tried to hold off, because it's not in my day ... but it's more fun to do it this way ... Back in Chief's day, games at birthday parties consisted of drawing on the cave walls and playing pin the rock on the rock.
  23. Back in my day we had birthday parties at home. We didn't go to germ-infested places for parties ... the kids all brought their germs to their friends' homes.
  24. Back in my day there were neighborhood bars on every corner. <looks around> Guess they are still there, just under different ownership.
