  1. No. I don’t think he’s enough of what we need and I don’t want to help the Yankees out with their potential payroll problems.
  2. Do you have goose for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day dinner?
  3. Shrimp dip was always part of our appetizer tray. Another family favorite. And of course, herring, too.
  4. Wow! You are the first person outside of family who knows these! And yes, my family is Danish. We roll them into long snakes (for lack of a better word), about the diameter of a dime, then slice them into little discs, about 1/4-1/3” thick, and out those little penny/dime-sized pieces on the cookie sheet. But yeah, one canNOT eat just one. This year I’ll make 16 batches.

    Baking

So ... anyone in holiday baking mode? I like baking ... mostly cookies and cakes or other things as recipes intrigue me. I read lots of recipes. Here are some of my supplies: And then I will do a total of 16 batches of these: Pebernodder ... translated pepper nuts. They are as big around as a dime or penny. Packed in tins or bags, they make great gifts. They are little tiny short bread like cookies with a zing of white pepper. I’ve also been doing some bread baking. Made two loaves of rosemary peasant bread today ... big yum! I have a couple vegan friends so anything with dairy in it is a no. I’ve already made a large batch of nut goodie bars, and will be making some almond bark and some peppermint bark. I vary it up year to year based on time and helping hands. What are your ovens producing? What are things you like to bake?
  6. Yeah, I’m not sure. But I think they are similar to Chief jokes.
  7. Careful. We don’t have that 3rd inning stretch ... yet.
  8. That’s why I said it was a good signing, but it’s still not the impact we need and hope we get. We had 3-4 slots to fill behind Berrios, and I think Odo and Pineda were both good signings and are on a good path. Like you said, we have back 3/5 of our rotation from last year, and the best 3/5 of it. Hoping the impact pitcher is still on his way.
  9. I don’t dislike the signing; I think it’s good. But it’s not impact to me. This is a very similar rotation to last season so far, so I’m hoping for one more of greater value.
  10. I LOVE those! How's the book?
  11. There's a guy at work who calls these 'Dad jokes.' I'm not sure what makes them 'Dad jokes', (would these be Chief jokes here?), but here's a sampling. Of all the inventions in the last 100 years, the dry-erase board has to be the most remarkable! To the person who stole my glasses ... I'll find you; I have contacts. Have any to add?
  12. Centurylink Sport Complex is owned by Lee County, I think, or the city of Fort Myers. It isn’t owned by the Twins nor the Miracle, er... Mussels, owner.
  13. I was under the impression that steroids actually did the opposite to testicles?
  14. Lol ... that’s to all the responses in this thread that made me laugh ... too many to quote, but I think scottz won, but it was close.
  15. Um ... the Mussels? Okay, I guess that works as play on words ... mussels, muscles ... didn't realize Fort Myers was exactly known for their mussels ... guess I'm going to have to get a new hat But, well ... think they could have done better with a name.
  16. And, imo, if you are going to pay, then go big and sign one of the top 2 ... It's my wish for Santa this year.
  17. Just a reminder to not get too deep in the weeds using this thread to discuss who you want the Twins to sign or what you want the Twins to do. This thread is to follow signings and transactions elsewhere. Yes, it’s very organic to mention how you wish the Twins would do this and that as players get signed or traded by other teams, and that’s fine. But if you want to develop that Twins discussion, we have an entire forum devoted to those discussions. This thread and forum is here to discuss elsewhere. Thanks.
  18. But seriously, do you want to know? My Mom lives in S Fort Myers so I'm down there often, and have been to ST for 19 consecutive years, plus a handful of other years. This coming year I might miss ... my schedule is pretty weird in March, so not sure if I'll make it there then.
  19. What specifically are you looking for? What else to do in the area? Getting around? Restaurants? What to do at the stadium? When to go? If you do an advanced search, and put 'Spring Training' in the search field, and in titles only, and search in the Twins Talk forum, you will get lots of hits. Some may or may not be relevant to what you are looking for, but I don't know how to narrow the search parameters any more than that.
  20. My favorite iPad games, The Room series, by Fireproof Games ... their next release will be a VR game. Their iPad games have been award winners, I hope their VR release will be as well.
  21. My first time baking dog biscuits. They don’t smell good ... lol
  22. I’m going to a friend’s place tomorrow for chicken curry. They said not to bring anything, but I can’t show up empty-handed. So I’ll bring a bottle of wine for her, something non-alcoholic for him, and homemade dog biscuits for their dog.
  23. MODERATOR WARNING: Do NOT go there. That is a terrible analogy to what this thread is addressing and has nothing whatsoever to do with it. Do NOT politicize the issue of domestic violence and abuse. This goes for everyone moving forward. As far as I'm concerned this thread is done. There is nothing pertinent left to say regarding the allegations Sam Dyson is facing. The report is out there, MLB is investigating, and until further information is known, this thread is done. Most of us know someone who is or was a victim of domestic violence. You may not know it, but it is highly likely you do. John Bonnes' post early on is a good place to start.
