    Well, congrats to him ... and damn it for us ... grrr ... but these guys aren't going to stay forever and it's a good sign our staff is being picked over. I just hope we fill those spots with equal or greater talent.

    I don't know what it is, but I never tire of hearing/listening to 'The Planets' by Gustav Holst; especially by a really great orchestra, live.

    Heh, that's just it ... in the absence of some actuality to discuss, we're playing some 'what ifs' here. Personally, I like the idea of acquiring Bryant, even if for two years ... depending on the cost, and I would trade Arraez for him, but again, depending on what else would get thrown in. But as I've said earlier, it's doubtful the Twins and Cubs make good trading partners because their priorities are pretty much the same ... pitching ... we both want some.

    It sounds like the Yankees were looking for any possible way out of that contract, and are gambling they found it. Yeah ... it's going to be a mess. But an interesting mess to follow! And they better have some really good proof or this could set a bad precedence if whomever sides with the Yankees on this.

    My mom is a huge baseball fan ... always was ... and huge in pushing for equality in girls/womens athletic programs in schools ... so I often wonder why she went the softball route. Maybe because back then, she didn't want to use her daughters to prove a point or push that line in a smaller more conservative community in the 60s.

    I'm not sure we make good trade partners, though ... they are looking for pitching as are we. But ... who knows? One of my friends who is a huge Cubs fan thinks they will be trading with the Padres. We'll see ... I can never prognosticate these things.

    I would take a couple of years of Bryant for the right price. As I said ... you listen to offers, and if the right one comes along ... Not sure what that would be with something involving Arraez, but, I'd listen.

    I can relate to much of this. Even down to athletic options. I played tennis and softball - tennis on the high school team, softball in summer rec leagues only, but I was on a couple of championship teams. If it was now ... not sure what I'd do, if I'd have insisted on playing baseball or not. And the shirt thing? Just ... ugh. Some of the advertising also is ... well ... geared toward one segment of the audience.

    Unless it brings us back Kris Bryant? Of course that won't be a straight up trade (or likely trade at all), but ... I'd listen.

    Yeah, not saying that I would do it. But maybe to the Sox he's worth it. As bad as we think it is, I can sort of see why they might have.

    My Cubs fan friends think that Bryant will get traded, and they think that the Padres will work a deal with them. But what they want is what everyone wants ... pitching.

    The Sox have and will have lots of youngsters. Not that Abreu really qualifies as a veteran, but moreso than many on their team right now. Plus, he really likes the White Sox and they like him. While it's a bit surprising they QO'd him, I can also see reasons why.

    I wasn’t aware of this ... of course I live out of state ... but I want to do this next summer! Maybe talk my niece and/or sister-in-law into signing up with me! Heh, I have no idea where my glove is, though.
