  1. J.A. Happ traded to St. Louis for John Gant ... Okay ... next? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ja-happ
  2. Not to rain on your post, but there is a thread on this very subject asking that very question
  3. That would kill the 'mostly happy buzz' I have going right now ... not just kill it, but pulverize it. that would be a huge mistake, imo
  4. Eddie Rosario traded to Atlanta
  5. It will be interesting to see the prospect rankings and write ups when all is said and done. Come on, @Seth Stohs, get cranking!
  6. I'm a terrible predictor, and I tend to weigh things a lot more ... cautiously (read, pessimistically) ... but I hope you're right
  7. Maybe it's me seeing the deadline clock tick down, but I think a lot of teams went from desperate, hopeful and/or searching to a lot more pessimistic about their chances against the Dodgers. I think that deflates things. Honestly, I'm terrible at predicting anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get a lot less now than we thought we would
  8. I still don't think we will get what we should ... I mean ... hmmm ... we'll see. I think LA getting what they got is a bit ... deflating for everyone else
  9. They can maintain a good farm because they can spend the money to get what they need for much. And then when they need the farm such as now, they have it because they could afford to save it. This deal the Dodgers made likely killed the market now for this deadline and I will be surprised if anything more of significance is done
  10. If I were the other teams, I'd just pack it in and make no trades ... I mean ... why? Why expend resources when you are not likely to get past them? I said a while ago to someone that I had a feeling that Cruz would be the only one traded. It's looking like I may be right, but ugh, wish I weren't. Hope I'm not.
  11. I knew what you were getting at ... the list is longer who goes than stays ... but how you worded ... heh
  12. Waiting for trade news is like watching paint dry

  13. Good I still really like Esco, and can cheer him on with the Brew Crew ... would've been difficult had he landed on the South Side
  14. Anyone but the Yankees ... ugh ... but yeah, it's the right move, if the right price is given
  15. What makes you think he would have held them to 17?
  16. I'm at a stage with this team that I just want to be put out of my misery :(

As a amateur bartender, and a cocktail guy, I always tell people that you like what you like!  No shame in that.

Heh ... I was once at this very nice bar near me, listening to music with friends, and I asked the bartender to make me something 'special' ... he made me a cocktail with Chartreuse ... it was very good, and did the trick ... it was a happy evening :)

Chartreuse is very good.  It's flavor profile is pretty potent though so a little goes a long way.  So, it takes forever to go through a bottle!

Nice bars are fun that way.  A good bartender can be a lot of fun if they can do things like that.

  17. As bad as Sano has been and there were definitely things last night that had me shaking my head in disgust, we should not have even been in the 10th or 11th, at all. Sano should not have been up to strike out in the 10th, let alone blunder in the 11th. The number one problem with this game last night, the number one problem with this season, is the bullpen ... tyvm, FO
  18. And *that* is how you start a ballgame!!
  19. Thanks to newcomer, @Tim, for the game thread intro!
  20. Exactly this. Which is why I can't believe the base is okay to Buxton. I mean ... if he's on the field, he will be worth every bit of whatever he gets. If he's not, then he's worth what he won't get. It's a no brainer, to me at least, which is why I can't believe that it's just about the escalators. If that is the hang up, and we don't sign him, then I say 'buh bye' to the FO.
  21. I like that Maeda scored the winning run ...
