  1. Buck saves a run in the 8th and brings one in in the 9th. Sign him to a 12-year extension now.
  2. Tampa Bay loses. They're out. Texas behind 14-1 vs Houston. They're out.
  3. I think a lot of us were looking at Burdi and Chargois moving into regular relief rotation this year. I hope they both still will be able to work their way back.
  4. Ok bullpen, make that one the dagger.
  5. Well, there's always tomorrow. Or the next 4 days after that.
  6. It's not just Kep. That's what tends to happen when we go from facing the worst BP in the league to the best one.
  7. Yanks leading Tampa Bay. Houston leading Texas. So we've got those two games going right.
  8. I think Hughes is on the official postseason roster. As is Sano. So they can add or subtract based on the DL.
  9. White Sox are being of no help at all.
  10. Dozier going for the cycle tonight!
  11. Which province does that guy live in?
  12. Just now had a chance to jump back in to the thread. Too many pages to catch up on. This is shaping up to be a hard game to watch. From the first pitch in the first inning.
  13. So, if one always practices moderation, doesn't that mean that moderation is not being practiced in moderation?
  14. Gotta maintain my good reputation!
  15. Doing it all on one day would be great but the ultimate scenario would be for a Twins win to eliminate four teams at once. However, this would require a few things to fall right. First, the Angels would have to lose to the White Sox before the Twins beat Cleveland. Second, Tampa Bay would have to beat the Yankees or lose in a game that ends after the Twins beat Cleveland. Third, Kansas City would have to beat Detroit or lose in a game that ends after the Twins beat Cleveland. And fourth, Texas would have to beat Houston or lose in a game that ends after the Twins beat Cleveland. The only way this would have a chance of happening would be for the Twins/Cleveland game to go into extra innings (edit: or have a weather delay). I don't know if I could stand watching that. Edited to add: If the Angels and Twins both lose tonight and the other three teams win tonight it would be possible to eliminate all four teams at the same time tomorrow, again depending on who wins and/or when each game ends.
  16. The editor missed deleting the apostrophe in the above sentence.
  17. Actually a 4-man rotation is the norm. Few teams can make it through three series with only three starters unless there's a sweep or two. In the 60's when there was only the WS, yes. Into the 90's when there were only two rounds, sometimes. Now that there are 3 rounds plus a WC game, hardly ever.
  18. Playing the Tigers in 7 of the last 10 games of the schedule is the best possible scenario. No team has been playing worse baseball to finish the season.
