    Fluency in Spanish has been mentioned a few times. I think anyone serious about a career in any phase of baseball should learn as much Spanish as possible. That means, players, managers, coaches, scouts, front office, journalists, even vendors. Well, maybe not vendors but everyone else.

    Ideally he'd try to bunt it, however in this situation there were two outs so that wouldn't apply.

    Dick said Colon's pulse rate is 78/20. That's 3.9. Something tells me Dick may not be too well versed in medical matters.

    There are times where bunting is the right move. While in many, if not most, situations a successful sac bunt actually lowers win expectancy the alternative must be considered. If an unproductive out or a double play is a strong possibility then a sacrifice bunt is less bad. That's why pitchers almost always bunt when one or two runners are on base with less than two outs. And it's my humble opinion that the squeeze is an underutilized play, especially in a late-and-close situation.

    I give the credit to Rosario because he timed his move perfectly. Drake had just engaged the rubber but not gone into his stretch. Make the move any sooner and it's not a balk. Wait till Drake is in the stretch and he's more likely to maintain his composure. He caught Drake when he was not quite in control and that made the difference. Rosario was channeling Molitor. It was truly a savvy play.

    I'm not an ump, and I don't know the answer for sure, but I think if he throws home he wouldn't have to step off because he's delivering a pitch. Throwing to another base, yes.

    The shift would have been acceptable maybe in the second inning, or with a 3-run lead, but not in the bottom of the 7th in a tie game.
