  1. Jax earned a chance to get right, but enough already. He's worse than Pagan. You can't send him out there in anything but a mop-up situation for at least his next 3-4 outings. Either that or domote him.
  2. If they were only going to sell if they got blown away, they'd never have publicly discussed it. I think the family wants out. Jim is done with it. His brothers never wanted it and Joe is an incompetent bafoon which the older ones now realize. I think they were pretty far down the road with Ishbia when he pulled the plug, so it delayed things a lot. But if they have any sense, they will still take the next best offer and run. The public is as down on them as they've been since the contraction days and it will be even harder to recover. I don't really think they can.
  3. It can marginally improve both if a change can spark at least .500 tolerable baseball. It won't cause either to do a 180. What's the argument AGAINST firing Rocco? And don't say $$ because neither Toby G nor Tingler will get massive raises for being the interim.
  4. Drawing 10K a game with plummeting TV ratings isn't helping the value of the team. The value is dropping a little bit every day this drags on. -Fire Rocco immediately. -Get the sale done with ASAP. -Trade all tradable assets at the deadline. -The new owner should fire Derek Falvey the day after the season. -Start over.
  5. Unless they somehow go 3-1 in the next four games, Rocco should be fired before the next road trip. This is as bad of a stretch as I've ever seen given the talent on the team. They are sloppy, disengage and disinterested. All a reflection on Rocco.
  6. 2003 Marlins won the World Series. Can't leave them off.
  7. The debt they've accumulated is their choice and their problem. They aren't going to get $1.7 billion. It's worth $1.5 billion and it's not going to go up much, if at all as they train wreck attendance, TV viewership and stare down the barrel of a work stoppage in a year. They can either take $1.5 billion now or hope to get $1.5 billion in 2 years after they've accumulated another $100 million in debt.
  8. We can tie it. Gasper is up. Gee I wonder what will happen...
  9. Nah. They're worth $1.5 billion. The Pohlads can take that, pay off the $350 and still have a billion dollars left over. Dad paid $35 million for them.
  10. They could legitimately be looking at losing $50-75 million this year. Good. They deserve it. Take the best offer you can and sell the $%% team already.
  11. Did anyone think Jim Pohlad would really fire Terry Ryan in 2016 or ever? No. But sometimes it's so bad you have no choice.
  12. Not in this case. On a team with a $140 million payroll they're going to insist the manager stay when he makes less than Chris Paddock and his replacement will make what Mickey Gasper makes? It's a non-factor. If they continue like this they will be dumping player salary left and right that dwarfs what the managers are paid.
  13. Judd Zulgad thinks he's gone by May at this point. Falvey will need a fall guy. I fail to see any good reason to keep him. He's virtually certain not to be the manager in 2026 either way.
  14. This all but guarantees that Vazquez will take every AB of every one of his remaining 70 starts.
  15. That's not a factor. It's not like they will be paying Toby Gardenhire or Tingler millions of dollars to be an interim manager.
  16. Falvey hasn't said anything and wouldn't until it was happening. It has been discussed in the local media, not just on here.
  17. The attendance this year may be at those mid-90's levels. And they have a much higher payroll and will lose a lot more $$.
  18. Maybe the Pohlad's on down are totally unaware of their fan base. But this is as completely disengaged as the fan base has been since the mid-90's and possibly ever. The value of their asset, which they actually do care about, is being actively damaged by the utter disregard of their customer base. I have plans to come to 2-3 games in early May. I'm now actively looking for alternate plans. I can't justify spending time or $$ to watch this. I can't imagine casual fans will either.
  19. Falvey's Gasper/Vazquez pairing at the bottom of the line-up has worked great as expected.
  20. "He's Falvey's guy" is not a good enough excuse to justify 16-37 over the last 53 games. This team has flaws but it's a lot more talented than 16-37.
  21. Since Falvey is now the team President, he has to worry about things like the God awful attendance and TV ratings now. That's more of a reason to do it, not less. Otherwise he's primed to get fired himself the minute there's a new owner.
  22. This team is the worst in baseball since last August. Attendance has cratered. The TV launch is a disaster since no one cares now. And they are trying to sell the team. They have to do SOMETHING. It's not all Rocco's fault, he has to eat the biggest share of the pie. What's the argument against firing him?
  23. This team feels way more disengaged. They don't care. And they have a lot of tradeable guys. They might actually play better once they dump as many vets as possible.
  24. That's what I meant. Was that not clear?
  25. Will the 2025 Twins ever get within 5 games of .500 again? I'll say no.
