  1. The Twins should have added a starter. That said, several teams were trying to buy and sell and not making sense. What are the D-Backs thinking? Why trade Grienke, replace him with Leake and hold on to Ray? So you can still give a half-hearted shot at the WC? Same for the Giants. And the Reds. And the Mets. And the Rangers
  2. So optimistically: We play the Yankees in the ALDS. Berrios pitches us to two wins and we bash our way to a 3rd. The Indians take out the Astros somehow. We beat the Indians in the ALCS. We play someone other than the Dodgers in the WS.
  3. Underwhelming, but better than nothing. I suppose you can argue that with Houston getting Grienke, the Twins getting Minor or even Stroman might not have mattered.
  4. Being a Minnesota sports fan is depressing. My interest level in the rest of the season is plummeting by the minute.
  5. All the more reason we probably could have topped it.
  6. This is Falvine clinging to their prospects. The only one the Pohlads may factor into would be Grienke.
  7. The Division Series will be against either the Astros or Yankees. No chance with this bullpen.
  8. He'd be nice to have. Funny how the Brewers can make trade almost every year and they're farm system isn't gutted.
  9. Daniel Hudson off the board to the Nats.
  10. Because that's just usually how it works out. Cleveland isn't going anywhere and Chicago might be very good in 2 years.
  11. At a certain point, if they're never ever going to even try to win it all, what's the point? This is 2006 all over again, and our next shot might be in 2032. And if this goes as expected and Favley is still around, he'll cling to his prospects and dream of 2035.
  12. If they do nothing, my confidence level in ever winning a WS with Falvine drops to zero.
  13. They're not sitting on them. They're clinging to their precious, precious prospects like grim death dreaming of someday that will never come.
  14. I thought I read somewhere that they were going to cut him off around 150?
  15. I suspect the Astros are going to pull of MadBaum.
  16. At this point I pretty much agree with this. Minor, Kennedy, a LOOGY and the Dyson idea's not terrible either. Especially with Buxton...well you know. My expectation is that they do nothing with "Couldn't find the right fit" "Best trades are the ones you don't make" quotes incoming. Life as a MN sports fan.
  17. If you're going to do Romo and nothing, you might as well have done nothing or even sold. The rotation/bullpen as currently constructed has almost no chance against the Astros/Yankees in a 7 game series, IMO. This would be very underwhelming, but would there be any point to getting someone like Leake and then shutting down Pineda for a month so he'd be available in the post-season?
  18. If they only acquire one more reliever, the 7th spot can be a Rochester shuttle of Thorpse/Steshak/Smeltzer/Stewart. In an ideal world we acquire another reliever and a starter (say Syndergaard and Kennedy. The bullpen would be: Rogers Kennedy Romo Duffy Harper May Perez
  19. If there is any market for Schoop, trade him before Wednesday.
  20. The Twins get about one season to go for it per decade and this is one of them. The Yankees rotation is a mess. Houston is good, but we already showed we can hang with them. Odorizzi is back to 2018 form. We have no chance in games 2 or 3 of any play-off series with our current rotation. They need another starter, whether it be Stroman, Syndergaard or someone else.
  21. Lol. Some of y'all are hilarious. "I'd rather have Belisle." Really? He has 17 saves. No he's not great. But he's better than what we have, and we gave up a guy we would have possibly lost as Rule V and got a decent pitching prospect on top of it. This can't be their only move though.
  22. It's funny because it's true.
  23. There is certainly injury risk. But there are only a couple available starters that I feel confident taking the mound in Game 1/2 at Yankee Stadium/Minute Maid. MadBaum, who is apparently no longer available, Grienke, who I don't think we'll take salary-wise and Syndergaard. Stroman/Boyd/ etc. don't install that much more confidence than Gibson/Odo.
  24. That makes sense. I'd rather keep the higher upside.
  25. #s aside, wasn't it pretty widely reported that he was a jerk and a problem in the clubhouse? Why would you bring that back?
