  1. At least I know who to root against in the NL play-offs. Dave Roberts can take a long walk off a short pier
  2. It appears he covers first better than Mejia.
  3. I don't agree with this. I would have told Colon you can be long relief or we'll release you. The only thing worse would have been demoting Mejia
  4. Not shocking that Rogers hit a tough stretch. Was saying they should have left Belilsle for the 8th and used Rogers in the 9th. Not sure it would have mattered
  5. Garcia shutting out the Dodgers through 4. Of course, I wouldn't want to throw him against them twice in 5 days.
  6. Really glad we're clinging to Breslow like grim death.
  7. Another missed play tonight. And hasn't gotten a regular hit in weeks. Can you DL a guy for mental reasons? They really need to come up with something. It's not going to do any good to keep running him out there. At least Buxton had his defense.
  8. It doesn't work like that and there's no salary cap, so it wouldn't matter even if it did. They owe him that money either way and there's no reason to give it to him in advance.
  9. He's probably a lost cause. But there's no reason to DFA him and eat that cash just yet. He still has numbness in his fingers. DL him for the rest of the year and bring him to Spring Training focused only on being a reliever. Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't. You can DFA him next April if not.
  10. It's giving one start to a guy who was an All-star last year but is probably done. It's not worthy of an intense reaction either way.
  11. Polanco is Nick Punto circa 2007 at the plate right now. I have zero confidence that he can get a hit right now (tonight's bunt not withstanding). And more importantly, neither does he. He desperately needs a couple weeks in the minors. Find an injury ASAP.
  12. All of this. There is literally no downside to this at all. There will be plenty of chances to watch the kids of the season blows up. People want Gibson gone. They want Santiago gone. They want Santana traded. They're irate we signed Colon. How many kids do y'all think we have that can pitch up here?
  13. You're right on Radke. He was under-appreciated. He took some heat after getting a 'huge' contract in the late 90's for not earning his 'ace' salary. But he was who he was. The shoulder may have forced him out a year or two sooner, but I think he was satisfied and wanted to go watch his kids grow up. He was never a guy who was going to be pitching at 38-39 IMO.
  14. This is a team that has started Turley and Wilk. This might be the biggest over-reaction I've ever seen on here.
  15. He's 0 for his last 18, 1 for his last 31 and single-handedly torpedoed any chance we had tonight with a brutal error. I certainly don't want to lose him for nothing, but he's totally lost at the plate right now, and his defense has been regressing badly the last several weeks. They need to invent an injury and get him a DL stint followed by a long rehab at AAA. In the meantime, you just have to bench him for Escobar/Adrianza.
  16. I get the overall frustration. But prior to today, he'd had several decent starts in a row, and we don't have any better options. Santiago is not an upgrade, and it's unlikely Colon is either. If his first two starts after the break are like today, then you make a move.
  17. Rogers and Kintzler need to finish this game. They won't be needed tomorrow
  18. Brutal game management by Molitor here
  19. Jorge is better than Santiago at this point
  20. It's a long season. People need to chill.
  21. After 14 years of carefully studying AL pitchers, Mauer's done messing around.
  22. No sorry. He lacks veteran presence.
  23. Tom Kelly once spoke to him in a sharp tone in 1992.
  24. Do you just let Boshers have the 9th. Dudes on and it ensures Kintzlers' available for tomorrow.
