I’m hoping for a Nick Mullens type of game with hopefully 1 or 2 fewer absolutely brain dead passes Nicky boy was known for. I think we will be able to move the ball down field and Brosmer will know where the ball is supposed to go on a play
This whole situation doesn’t pass the smell test. If there really was a local group interested, I find it extremely hard to believe they haven’t been identified by the beat reporters. Sid Hartman would have bullied every local business owner until he got a name.
There were articles last year about him taking virtual reps with VR headsets. Maybe he was watching something X rated on that VR headset instead. Who knows
That’s why I’m looking at trade candidates like Mac Jones and Jacoby Brissett… Kyler Murray, Tua, and Lawrence could be on the move and while I’m not a fan of any of them really, they do provide a floor of league average QB play.
Gross. But for less than $10 million I guess beggars can't be choosers. The main point is we can't head into 2026 without a legitimate backup QB who can challenge McCarthy for playing time. Wentz wasn't a serious option when we signed him off the couch a week before the season began.
Don't sound too excited about Brosmer now. Why not see what he has in a lost season? All he has to do is clear the extremely low bar set by McCarthy. Who, if he had simply spiked the football on his 20 pass attempts last game, would have earned a higher QB rating than he finished with.
Vikings should do this too. If he got fixed by the real QB whisperer Kyle Shanahan we can benefit off of that. Unless the plan in 2026 is to tank for a much better QB draft class in 2027...
It has to be something that broke down during the season with more reps. KOC, Phillips, and McCown have been around pro football for a long time. They’re not blind
Yeah I preferred taking the 21 year old development QB over 24 year old Bo Nix and still stand by that. The biggest issue I have is they didn’t have to rush him into action. He should have been on the bench all of this season and maybe even next season too.
This is what I can’t wrap my head around. How did a group of NFL coaches see McCarthy at OTAs/minicamp with this poor of fundamentals and say yep, QB 1 without a doubt? And then have zero urgency finding a backup solution?
It’s just a little too convenient to announce this the day after the Vikings played the worst 2nd half of football in years right?
*Puts on tinfoil hat*
All of this is adding up to pulling the plug on McCarthy after this year. If you're performing terribly, and can't stay healthy, there's not much to work with here.
In the NFL you can finish with the 2nd worst record in the league and end up in the NFC Championship game the following year with a good draft class/free agency. That’s nearly impossible to do in MLB.
Because it’s the only thing that drives sustainable success. If you can’t draft, which Kwesi can not, then you’re doomed for this roller coaster we’re on winning 13 games followed up with a 10 loss season.
