    I was reminded listening to the Talking Baseball podcast that the Rays once offered top prospect Junior Caminero to the Angels for rental Shohei Ohtani. I could see them being the most aggressive team this deadline. Of course, the Dodgers could swoop in and send over one or more of their 4 top 25 prospects in all of baseball to Detroit for Skubal.

    The bullpen was always going to be a work in progress. That had no shot of being good immediately. To my surprise, the Twins found 2 good building blocks there. Gomez was placed on our doorstep by Tampa, and Morris looks like a keeper. Though I am curious what he looks like as a starter too...

    Just one fan's opinion... I think this year was always going to be a transition year. Find out what you have in the 25-29 year old players like Lee, Wallner, Martin, Larnach, and Lewis who have been trying to establish themselves for multiple seasons. Kreidler, Gray, and Clemens are cheap lottery tickets who could theoretically be part time players, or build up for more playing time. We found out Wallner, and Martin aren't building blocks. Lewis and Lee I'm still on the fence about. Clemens and Kreidler look like solid utility guys and Gray didn't work out.

    Sandy Alcantara or Seth Lugo if the Pohlads actually want to bring the payroll back up to the $130-150 million range next year.

    I've got to think Adams is his direct competition. They need to play the role of playing near the line of scrimmage and blitz more often than not.

    Things aren't looking too good in Tampa at the moment. Baker wants a $50 million AAV extension, and their HC Bowles is certainly entering the season on the hot seat.

    I think you're looking at him from a nostalgic viewpoint. He's been pretty bad this year. He's not better than Ober, Priellipp, or even Paredes this season.
