    Spot on. It’s not like this situation snuck up on them. The Twins should have been planning for life after BSN 2 years ago. Aaron Gleeman can keep saying the Twins were “pushed” into taking the 1 year deal. It doesn’t help. They took the largest sum of short term cash from a bankrupt organization. And ended up pissing off fans living in the region.

    We will agree to disagree. Casinos have always preyed on addicts to keep chasing that jackpot that will never come. Sports betting uses predatory practices (put $100 into our app and we’ll match it!) to latch onto addicts as well.

    Before the season began I pinned the Twins as a mid 80s win team. I haven’t had the opportunity to watch and change my opinion. 0-12 against the top 3 AL teams (NYY, CLE, BAL) that’s not a good sign. I’m hoping for an exciting July - September with a healthy Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee leading the way.

    Ah okay now I understand your thought process. I agree with you trading him at the time we did worked out. As far as the initial signing itself it was good and he produced while wearing a Twins uniform. So that’s my crux with the author putting him as the 5th worst FA signing.

    In what way did his salary kill us? He was a late signing after striking out on pitching free agents.

    A guy with an .829 OPS and 3.7 WAR in 163 games is the 5th worst signing? The revisionist history about Donaldson on TD is insane. Am I glad about trading him away when we did? Absolutely. But he wasn’t a huge problem while he played on the Twins.

    Fragmenting is working so far for the NFL even though there are more than a few complaints about it. They can get away with it because of the exclusivity of 1 game per week. I can’t see it working out as well for baseball with 162 games. If the Twins are on a streaming service I’m not currently subscribed to, I’ll skip the game. The urgency is not the same to subscribe to Peacock for 1 Twins game on a random night in June.

    Our old friend’s stat line is not bad this year. 27 appearances 26 IP 3.12 ERA
