  1. Couldn’t agree more. I chuckle when I read articles claiming we’re one or two upgrades away at 1B/DH and LF from being a WS contender. If those upgrades are in their prime Albert Pujols and peak Manny Ramirez, sure we are WS contenders.
  2. If Lewis, Julien, Wallner, and Kepler didn’t go nuclear in the 2nd half of 2023, we would be talking about how bad the offense has been for 2+ years. This team is closer to a full rebuild than a WS appearance.
  3. IIRC his last wrist surgery was quite severe in order to save his baseball career. Maybe all of those procedures sapped his power and swing speed?
  4. He just might be talented enough to get the call from AA to the majors. But someone who follows the minors closer than me can call me out on it. I see he’s been raking and I’d love to see him get some run time with the MLB team after the trade deadline.
  5. Concur. I don’t think striving for 85 wins just to get blown out by the Yankees in the playoffs accomplishes anything. I’m not advocating for a fire sale, but at the very least trade some of the expiring contract players like Kepler and Thielbar.
  6. The hat looks like something already for sale at the MSP Airport gift shop.
  7. The Padres one is so different and vibrant that it’s actually cool. This one for the Twins? Hideous. We trying to be the Brewers now?
  8. This is on old friend Shelton. Letting this dude Heller out to dry.
  9. Thanks to Pittsburgh for throwing out this bum of a pitcher in the 10th!
  10. Ah you’re right. Getting rid of 36 year old Jay Jackson and 33 year old Justin Topa not pitching at all will do that.
  11. I’m ready for this to be Falvey and Levine’s last season. Desperately grasping for 83 wins isn’t where we should be 8 years into their tenure. The Mahle and Lopez trades went so terribly and once again they acquired a trio of players that rivals Shoemaker, Happ, and Colomé from 2021.
  12. Started harvesting the romaine! Radishes still need another week or two to grow.
  13. Couldn’t agree more. The roster is mostly old, especially in the pitching department. And a group of 25-27 year olds still trying to establish themselves as MLB talent. I’m not excited about the health of the organization.
  14. When the games in question have the Twins scoring 4 runs or less, I couldn’t care less about the umpire. The Twins have to generate more runs, and the umpires won’t matter.
  15. I think Cleveland fans have a more compelling case to not fear the Twins…
  16. Spot on. It’s not like this situation snuck up on them. The Twins should have been planning for life after BSN 2 years ago. Aaron Gleeman can keep saying the Twins were “pushed” into taking the 1 year deal. It doesn’t help. They took the largest sum of short term cash from a bankrupt organization. And ended up pissing off fans living in the region.
  17. We will agree to disagree. Casinos have always preyed on addicts to keep chasing that jackpot that will never come. Sports betting uses predatory practices (put $100 into our app and we’ll match it!) to latch onto addicts as well.
  18. Before the season began I pinned the Twins as a mid 80s win team. I haven’t had the opportunity to watch and change my opinion. 0-12 against the top 3 AL teams (NYY, CLE, BAL) that’s not a good sign. I’m hoping for an exciting July - September with a healthy Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee leading the way.
  19. It is a perpetual varsity vs. JV game.
  20. Margot, Farmer, and Vazquez locked into the lineup then. I love our chances.
  21. The dark cloud NYY has placed over this organization over the last 20 something years needs to be documented. Unbelievable.
  22. These 2 entities were never going to work something out. Excellent business decision, Dave St Peter and the Pohlads!
  23. What are the odds the National broadcast on TBS is blacked out?
  24. Gambling is an addiction like anything else. And it’s getting to be impossible to avoid.
