  1. You are correct Nick. There was a momentous opportunity to build a huge division lead, and it’s squandered away now. The White Sox practically begged to be put out of their misery after their horrid start in April. Now they are 3.5 games out of 1st. Imagine how they must be feeling to be in the mix after an 8-21 March/April. There is zero urgency to do anything different thanks to the division being so bad. Falvey and Rocco will keep on keeping on following the spreadsheet.
  2. The Twins just completed their 25th game scoring 2 runs or less. Their record in these games is 4-21. They have scored 3 runs or less in 32 out of 63 games. Their record is 7-25. Over 50% of the time the offense gives the team a minimal chance to win a baseball game.
  3. I certainly don’t have high expectations. I like the direction Kwesi is taking. As you said, it’s clearly taking a step back before hopefully taking two steps forward. Overall, can’t complain. They’re gambling for upside with Davenport (26 years old) and Murphy (25). Almost every overpaid veteran is off the team now except Kirk and Harry the Hitman. Solid foundation of players 27 and younger… including two franchise tackles, game changing WR, and arguably a top 3 TE in the league. It will be interesting to see what happens with Hunter. I can go either way with that decision. He’s still young enough to be highly productive for 3-4 more years. But if someone offers a 1st round pick, that will help make a play for one of the top QB prospects next draft.
  4. It’s literally the same game over and over again.
  5. Gallo yes, Thielbar yes, Stewart I suppose if he has real value, and Gray yes if he won’t sign a short extension. Polanco I would struggle with trading because he is one of the only visible leaders in the clubhouse.
  6. End of an era. I enjoyed watching him but this is the right (and obvious) move to make this offseason. Next up, figuring out how to pay Danielle Hunter. If we can’t, then he’s likely getting traded.
  7. The Twins should be active sellers at the deadline this year. If they luck into a division title with 82 wins so be it. They are once again light years behind the top teams in the league.
  8. It’s certainly not enough for me to spend my personal time off work watching them. I am grateful for the game recaps to stay up to date on the team. That’s about all I can take these days.
  9. I know the FO has pulled off a minor miracle before trading JA Happ for a breathing prospect, but let’s be real about Kepler. His value to a playoff contending team is being a defensive replacement late in games. What rebuilding team would offer anything for him?
  10. Guess he didn’t want to be home near his family in Louisiana for long.
  11. Sad but true. The situation is very frustrating as a fan. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for Falvey and Baldelli who would love nothing more than him playing 130 games a season in CF. We’re only the first year into the extension and it’s only going to get worse, I’m afraid.
  12. When will I know when it’s time to pick romaine lettuce?
  13. By July 1 is my guess. They’re not gonna pay the Twins. Just don’t see it happening.
  14. Just catching up… We’ve been waiting for over a decade to see a home grown super star. Royce Lewis could potentially be that guy.
  15. Encouraging news about Thielbar. Probably back with the Twins in a day or two.
  16. It’s just another avenue to get more potential eyes on the Twins. More options is a good thing.
  17. I am pretty confident that the Twins will not be broadcast on Bally Sports at the end of the season. Sounds like we are next, along with Cleveland and Arizona, to likely break away from Diamond Sports. The good news is MLB acted swiftly with the Padres and it should triple the amount of homes who can watch their games. My hope for the cord cutters is MLB will choose some channels on YouTube TV or Hulu Live TV to broadcast the games so more people can watch the Twins. Revenue sharing has to be strongly considered once the collapse of Diamond Sports is final. Most teams will never be able to recapture the revenue from their old TV contracts. Other teams like the Yankees and Dodgers will have an enormous advantage if their RSN deals remain in tact.
  18. 26 out of 55 games scoring 3 or less runs in a game. 6-20 record.
  19. Anti-jinx… The Twins are being NO HIT right now.
  20. Feels like this order is missing something. Pineapple perhaps!
  21. Good. I’ll be over in 15 minutes and we can order a pizza together
  22. Unfortunately if we’re ever in a situation to order pizza, you’re in charge of your own pizza then.
  23. Sounds like we can share a pizza together which was my primary concern! If the order is minimal ingredients I’m a pepperoni and green olive order. If not I’m a supreme order subbing green pepper for green olive.
  24. Are you a pineapple is okay on pizza type of guy?
