    Me too. We need a bulldog starter in the playoffs. I’m not so sure Kikuchi starts in the wild card series over Ryan, Ober, and Lopez. Eovaldi definitely does. Or at the very least is the fireman in the bullpen.

    A little over a week later, the Rangers are 7 games out of a wild card spot, 5 games back in their division. Houston and Seattle are likely to be big buyers at the deadline. I don’t think the Rangers catch either one of them, and should sell… The Twins need a bulldog starter that’s been there, done that in the playoffs. Nathan Eovaldi is that bulldog. Playoff resume: 17 games, 12 starts, 9-3 record, 3.05 ERA in nearly 80 IP. He would need around 70 more IP in the regular season to hit the $20 million vesting option in 2025. Not sure if he gets there. Top of the head math, he’s owed around $9 million the rest of the year. That’s the hurdle, which could be overcome.

    Attendance traditionally lags one year behind results. They were a bad team in 2021 and 2022.

    This is exactly it. And I don’t see it improving now that the Twins are out of sight, out of mind for so many people in the region. The Twins will get a temporary boost if/when they make the playoffs because we Minnesota sports fans know when to hop on the bandwagon. Until then, not much will change. They’ll draw 30,000 against the well known good teams and 20,000 or less against anyone else.

    No power yet and no real update from Xcel Energy since this morning at 8 AM. I’m learning my place is pretty good at retaining cool air, but I am getting concerned about food in my fridge and freezer. No power since 1 AM.
