  1. Also, I could get used to this lineup. Buxton taking some more time to be with the baby wouldn’t bother me a bit.
  2. Dyson makes their vacuums look sleek and sexy… But there’s a reason why cleaning service companies still use the old trusty Oreck XL.
  3. Agreed with all of your points. I also think bullpen arms aren’t a top priority. In fact, I would rather see one or more of Balazovic, Sands, and Ortega progress to more frequent, higher leverage work. Stewart and Thielbar are coming back soon. If we add another old veteran, all of the younger pitchers are back in St Paul. Keuchel not opting out is certainly worth keeping an eye on. Makes me wonder if there’s an arrangement made that he will be activated if/when a trade is made?
  4. Perfectly stated! I don’t know how sustainable this run is, but for now I am enjoying the wins.
  5. Long snapper and TE depth guy. I’m guessing we will want to move him to the practice squad.
  6. Good week overall. SSS, but the offense numbers as a whole look very encouraging since the All Star Break. 8th in BA (.271) 5th in OBP (.360) 1st in OPS (.859) Correa needs to stay hot. I would love to see him hit an OPS of .800 or more this month.
  7. That’s awesome David! You could start a stand at the farmers market!
  8. This week’s pepperoncini pepper harvest! We found a recipe for refrigerator peppers and gave it a try! In 3-4 weeks we’ll see how good they taste.
  9. Storms are supposed to hit Target Field around 7. I was out golfing in the northwest suburbs and called it after 15 holes because of lightning and thunder.
  10. Why stop there? Royce Lewis and Eddie Julien have a bit of value. Flip them too.
  11. The Mariners’ gravity pull to .500 is too strong.
  12. Nah I think the Vikings have moved on. Besides, he’s got some legal matters to clean up first.
  13. I want to know what happened to the contraption employees wore to sell hot dogs in the stands? They just POOF! Disappeared and no one has seen them in 3 years.
  14. Back in my Whine Line days I interviewed one of the trash cans used by the Astros… Heart breaking, really. The can, against his will, was beaten senseless whenever an off speed pitch was called on the field. All that trash can wanted to be in life was be a fixture at a state park.
  15. I’m glad you’re bringing this topic to light by the way! No one ever considers the journey to be 0.000001% of all water coolers to make it to professional baseball.
  16. A bit shaken up. It’s taking a day or two to process the assault and determine whether to press charges. If I were the water cooler, I’d contemplate whether it’s worth performing my only function when my health and safety is at risk.
  17. In the very controlled role they have him in, he’s doing well. Has it been worth the hassle of shielding a 32 year old veteran from high leverage opportunities as much as possible? I don’t know.
  18. I’m not sure Falvey has the luxury of planning for 2024 right now. If the opportunity presents itself to acquire an OF with multiple years of control let’s do it. I don’t know who that will be.
  19. No doubt, I’m with you. I have no qualms about Castro keeping this role over Gordon when he returns.
  20. Long term plans? No, not yet anyway. Depends on what he’s projected to get in arbitration… That might price himself out of the role.
  21. The Rockies have next to nothing of interest to trade… CJ Cron is fine. I guess I’d trade a minor league filler like Mark Contreras. Zero interest in Bard or Hand. They should probably get out of the Kris Bryant contract while they are able to. Colorado has some under the radar awful contracts on their books. Kyle Freeland for some reason is locked in for 4 more seasons around $15 million per year. Antonio Senzatela is also, for some reason, locked in for 4 more seasons around $11 million per year. Bard guaranteed $9.5 million next year. Gross.
  22. .288/.366/.493 slash line in Cedar Rapids with 14 HRs. 46 games played at 3B, 25 games played at 2B. Fast riser?!
  23. Bench him and play Julien at DH. It’s time to show some urgency and play the hot bat.
  24. It still amazes me we were able to trade Donaldson away and not have to eat any of the remaining money on his deal.
