  1. Worst assembled team in the modern era. I can't imagine what the Cleveland Spiders looked like
  2. Twins on pace to be 2-0 since it was declared on this website that the Twins do not want to win games.
  3. I don't have a lot of memories of the 2003 Detroit Tigers... The 2024 White Sox is the worst assembled team I've seen. It looks historically bad for them.
  4. Baltimore is stacked. Yankees face under .500 teams for the next calendar month so they'll be right back into the conversation. Cleveland, when does luck become a trend? Because they've been "lucky" for 4 months.
  5. Eric Fedde’s first start with the Cardinals today against the lowly Cubs. 5 IP - 6 H - 5 ER - 4 K - 2 HR allowed
  6. The ball has been pulled 30 years in a row. I’ve learned not to attempt the kick anymore.
  7. Maybe one day Charlie Brown will kick that football Lucy is holding.
  8. I’m bored of the Pohlad bashing. There’s 30+ years of evidence how they run the team. They actually shared the truth about having a very tight budget this season. Some chose not to listen. At least this year they didn’t insult our intelligence by saying “We definitely would have approved a trade if Falvey presented it to us” We are all adults with the ability to make our own decisions. There’s 29 other MLB teams. I’m looking forward to this pity party ending and getting back to talking about the current roster of Twins players.
  9. The irony is the Mets crashed and burned when Cohen was spending like a drunken sailor. Now that he scaled back spending he’s got a good team.
  10. You’re describing last year’s NL representative Arizona Diamondbacks. So yes, the scenario works. With the expanded playoffs, 3 game wild card series and 5 game division series, the format is more of a coin flip than ever before.
  11. The reality is the next time the Twins win a World Series it will be by sheer luck. Just like 1987 and 1991. The Pohlads didn’t capitalize when the team was on a MLB record setting HR pace in 2019. The entire decade of the 2000s. Doesn’t matter if the moon aligns with Saturn and Jupiter. That’s just how they roll as owners.
  12. Not too hard of a choice for Randy. Take a 70% pay cut or play in St Paul for $3 million?
  13. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Sports fans beg for the truth. Then when we get the truth, and it’s something we don’t like, then we say they shouldn’t have said anything. If they said nothing, then we would say why are the Pohlads hiding from accountability?
  14. Did I miss a memo that as of yesterday the team no longer wants to win?
  15. I was pointing out what’s likely to happen. He’s going to be DFA’d again in due time, pass waivers, and end up in St Paul. We will be the ones to pay the $1 million buy out
  16. 1. Yes. He was DFA’d before and they will do it again when the opportunity presents itself. 2. Probably. If anyone wants to claim him and take on his guaranteed money, God bless them. 3. If he clears waivers, he’ll go back to St. Paul. I have no problem giving him a spot start. We have played worse pitchers in recent years. Festa is establishing himself and I’m continuing to give him chances over Dobnak.
  17. There were zero top 100 prospects traded this year. Nor were there any all star level players traded. This deadline reminds me of my long time running fantasy football league. We still remember the time we were fleeced in a trade in 2015, and too afraid to be the loser in a deal so nothing happens.
  18. I appreciate the attempt to find a positive from the nothing burger trade. If we get 15 decent innings out of him I’ll be surprised.
  19. Valuation numbers don’t really mean anything unless they’re selling today. Cash flow is king in any business, and clearly we are strapped on cash flow. Look at the other businesses the Pohlads are involved in. Heavily invested in commercial real estate which is going in the tank.
  20. I hope that’s the direction they go. Form a new channel called Minnesota Sports Network or whatever. Then offer it as a standalone app for $300 a year, and negotiate deals with all of the streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu, DirecTV, Comcast, etc. Make it ridiculously easy to get their content no matter what provider you have.
  21. For this region it does make sense to bundle all of the sports teams together under one network. I can’t imagine people will be happy about paying for a stand alone Twins app, stand alone Wild app, etc etc. Just give us as many options as possible to watch them.
