    Congrats Texas. They were the team I was scared of all season to face in the playoffs. Their lineup was potent. Let’s hope the Twins build a fearsome lineup as good as them next year.

    The Rangers need WAY more media coverage for successfully buying a WS team via free agency. Yes, they also had depth and prospect development. That was the primary reason why it worked in Texas and not for the Mets.

    True. He was an underwhelming signing at the time. It’s unlikely Dobbs or Hall has a 2017 Keenum type run, but crazier things have happened in football.

    It’s going to be fascinating over the next 5-10 years what alternatives are out there to recapture the revenue from bloated cable TV contracts which will be a thing of the past. I’m glad the Twins are going to be ahead of other mid market teams with the next step. The RSN model as we know it is collapsing on the sport.

    Dobbs is what he is at this point in his career. This is the 5th team he’s been on. Nothing more than a backup who can maybe win a few games. It cost a maybe 15 spot drop from the 6th to the 7th round to acquire him. To me, this move says more about Mullens’ likelihood to return from injury in the next couple of weeks. The Ezra Cleveland trade feels like avoiding the difficult conversation of benching either him or Risner. The trade return was light, but oh well. Cleveland is in the sweet spot of performing well in a contract year. Some team is going to pay up for him thinking they are solving their interior OL woes. But by the mid point of the contract, they’ll wish they never offered him that money.

    Congrats on a hell of a run, Dick! His voice has been a comforting, constant sound in my house for my entire Twins fandom.

    Yeah, Hall has at least a 1 game audition to see what he is. If it’s a train wreck, they’ll turn to Mullens if he can return for the Saints game. I would flip Osborn but that’s about it. More or less to do him a favor and send him to a team where he can be a #1 WR like New England. Once JJ returns, I like the trio of him, Addison, and Powell. Maybe one of these weeks Nailor will be healthy to get some play time.

    Thank you for providing the perspective. The IL environment was heavily weighted towards offense, so SWR and other pitching prospects aren’t going to have the appealing stat line we seek.
