  1. I'm with you on looking to acquire Desmond, but providing Twins trade examples isn't going to drive the point home to doubters. We have been getting fleeced on a majority of trades in the last 10 years.... The Twins are contenders in late JUNE! And as much as I want to keep the cupboards in the minors full for the long term, contending teams make trades for guys like Desmond. I think he should definitely be considered to join this team in July.
  2. Matt Capps would like a word with you after he returns from the buffet.
  3. It's been a really fun season so far seeing all of the kids come up to the big leagues. Can't wait to see what he can do!
  4. Yeah I would take a chance on Desmond. He can bring a power hitting element that our lineup severely lacks (looking at you, Joe)
  5. Hit the nail right on the head 100%. We need to see Meyer on the MLB roster this season, and what better time then now.
  6. Yeah.... how about we put Buxton back where he belongs at the leadoff spot.
  7. It's painful to see Thompson on the mound these days... Luckily Duensing has settled down nicely in Stauffer's old role of BOOIP: Blow out one inning pitcher. The clock is approaching midnight before the current bullpen is blown up.
  8. He's too talented not to get things figured out at the MLB level. Keep him at the lead off spot and let him grow the rest of the season!
  9. I don't get the fascination of a 6 man rotation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no MLB team has ever done that before, right? And we expect the Twins to implement a brand new concept? No chance. Milone has had a couple of quality starts recently, but he's just a back end rotation pitcher at the end of the day. He's my first guess at who's out of the rotation. The other I believe will be a revolving door of Nolasco limping to and from the DL, and Hughes.
  10. I think people care more about keeping him out of baseball and will do anything to keep it that way. For myself I could care less either way. I just don't get the timing of this. Why is this information unsealed and brought to public knowledge after 30 years?
  11. Funny that these details came out now that Selig's gone and it seemed like the idea of reinstating Rose was warming up. Safe to say this is the nail in the coffin that he will never be reinstated in baseball as long as he's alive.
  12. While I do not agree with the original poster's examples of Darnell and Thielbar to call up, it is still long overdue to make some changes in the bullpen. And similar to what Mike and others are saying, the solution needs to come from in-house. My preference would be to see any of these guys: Burdi, Atcher, Meyer.... We can discuss until our hands go numb from typing on whether the 2015 Twins are contenders or pretenders, and if we should be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. My Taurus stubbornness remains the same that I do not want to sell off pieces of the farm for an immediate bullpen need. If this was 2016 or beyond I will think differently, but I want to remain on the plan they set out and see as many kids from the minors as possible this season.
  13. Trevor May the strikeout machine....
  14. There's a Blind Pig down here in Austin, TX too. Been there several times...
  15. May's offspeed pitches are dead on today boys.
  16. Thanks for blowing up my first attempt at starting a thread on TD!! I think we've determined that Pelf has more value on our team this year than making a trade. My new question: Is there any current staff member that has enough trade value to get that close to MLB ready catcher that we so desperately need?
  17. Thatta kid May! Way to get out of that inning.
  18. I'd rank them Pelfrey, May, Gibson, Hughes, Milone right now. Never would have said Pelf #1 any other year...
  19. I really enjoy watching May pitch. I know we all have our different opinions of how the rotation will shape out after Santana, but I really want May to stick.
  20. We're about 7 years too late on the Mauer to OF campaign. I completely agree with your takes on Arcia and Hicks. Arcia in my opinion has gotten this far on talent alone. But at the MLB level, you need to put in some extra work to become a well rounded player. He doesn't seem like the guy that puts in that extra effort.
  21. He's night and day this season compared to 2013 Pelfrey. As a former Pelfrey Pitchfork member, I admit that he's actually a pleasure to watch this year. I'm all for keeping him on the team if the value is not there to make a deal, but extension?? Dear god no.
  22. I don't think the Twins would get the value they need to pull the trigger on a Plouffe deal during this season. I'm all for offering him arbitration this offseason, and watch the battle between Sano vs. Plouffe at 3rd base for the first couple months of 2016.
  23. I get this thought. Pelfrey's value has never been higher while he's been on this team, which prompted me to start the discussion. I guess the trade off would be do you want a flyer prospect to store in A ball while moving up people like Stewart, Gonsalves, Hu etc? Or are you okay with letting Pelf walk at the end of the season with no compensation?
