  1. You’re not going to find any disagreement from me. We should fire Rocco tonight too while we’re at it. I’m amazed he will likely be allowed to finish out the season. Edit: Amazed isn’t the correct term. Falvey literally proved he will trade 10 players away to keep his friend employed.
  2. This regime has always been weird about announcing coach contracts. For all we know the option was picked up in February. Dan Hayes just caught wind of it and announced it during one of our worst stretches of the season at the time.
  3. As far as the topic at hand… Here’s my rough guess at a lineup for the next week or two… C - Jeffers 1B - Sabato 2B - Clemens SS - Lee 3B - Lewis LF - Larnach CF - Buxton RF - Wallner DH - Keaschall By Sept 1… Jeffers - Clemens - Julien - Lee - Lewis - Rodriguez - Buxton - Larnach - Keaschall I assume Keaschall will be extremely limited throwing and play mostly DH.
  4. Not sure that’s fair to him. I would have never brought him back for 2025 after last season’s epic collapse for the record. But the players did this to themselves. They’re professional athletes and played lifeless baseball from the get go this season.
  5. Today feels like a proper day to appreciate the Wilfs as owners of the Vikings. They may have been too hands off at times during the Zimmer years, but there hasn’t been any question about their desire to win.
  6. I’ll look and see how they manage to fill out a roster for tomorrow… But there’s no way in hell I’m wasting time in the near future watching this team on TV. And unless there’s an organized Sell the Team protest for a home game, I won’t spend a dime attending TF the rest of the season.
  7. I’m sure baseball historians like Jayson Stark and Buster Olney are on the case. My guess is we just witnessed a historic fire sale.
  8. What happened today, and 4 months later when the offseason begins, will be more extreme than anything the Miami Marlins did. It’s astounding.
  9. Agreed. Or waiver wire, whatever. I don’t even know how Falvey and team kept things straight today with all of the negotiations and players being discussed.
  10. Just another accomplishment to celebrate in Minnesota sports. What a wild day. I have so many questions
  11. The old saying was “You can’t fire all of the players” when talking about coaching vs. the players. Derek Falvey said hold my beer. I’ll nuke 40% of the roster to save my buddy Rocco
  12. That was my first thought why Tampa would do this. They’re going to move him to the rotation and he’ll probably be a 2026 All-Star.
  13. Still need catching and we just released 2 AAA catchers a week ago. The cupboard is empty.
  14. We can argue all day long about returns. So much happened today I don’t even know how to process it. As far as players exiting the org… Yeah there was an argument to be made trading them. All 10 of them? That’s extreme. And, just to note, I do hate the Varland trade the most. That one was so unnecessary
  15. I mean, the answer is this roster wasn’t working. Morale low, players that were mailing it in. The last 162 games they are a 90 loss team. The players have been speaking loud and clear they didn’t believe in this organization. I never imagined it would get this extreme today, but every trade minus the Varland one made sense.
  16. Arbitration. The 2 Chief pointed out are the only guaranteed contracts
  17. We better get an announcement of new owners before the end of the season. Otherwise those 2 plus Ryan and Ober will want out too.
  18. Something tells me I’m not going to run into him at Costco anytime soon
  19. In the NFL they film the draft “war rooms” for each team. It would have been fascinating if a camera was running in Falvey’s office all day long.
  20. With a sell off of this magnitude, I have no doubt he was dictated to get rid of as much salary as he can. Clean slate for the new owners. Almost every decent prospect we acquired are A ball level talents.
  21. Will we win 10 games the rest of the season?
  22. Gonna need to fire up the “Get to Know ‘Em” campaign starting tomorrow
  23. Not even the Marlins had a fire sale like we have had today. This is absurd
  24. Is that 11 MLB players we traded away in 2 days??
